Marriage before landing query

Say if one has immigrant visa (CoPR) till 20th April. Now the person marries by then and informs CIC for change of status. The medicals is expired for this person and so will have to be re-done with spouse. So CIC will issue new visas for the person and the spouse. What is the duration of this new immigrant visa? Is it 1 year (validity of the new medicals) or is it 6 months?

It will be up to the expiry date of the latest medical, I believe.
