I landed in Montreal on an ICT work permit on April 16, 2017 (on a Sunday) and my first day at office was April 17th and if I go back on 15 April 2018 (Sunday), will my Canada work experience be counted as 1 year or 1 day less than a year and hence I will not be eligible for Canadian experience?

Regards,
LB

Assuming your last day is the 13 or 14th (the day you depart is not likely your last day of work).

You cannot control how weekends fall, but one year is the MINIMUM requirement. I have seen similar scenarios both accepted and refused. So, no guarantees. But in your shoes, I would be inclined to gamble and apply. Make sure to get your record of employment when you leave.

Thank you for your response. So this means that the employer should mention in the experience letter the start and end date in such a way that it shows one year.
What if I miss the one year by a day, but still satisfy the number of hours?

Modifying/faking information so it fits your needs is misrepresentation. Be careful.

No. I did not mean that way. Since I am an intracompany transferee, the company is likely to mention the experience from the day I landed until the day I go back.

Landing/departure dates are irrelevant. First day worked/Last day worked are the dates that need to be in the letter.

Explained above.

If you were full time, you have to work one year / 52 weeks. You do not count hours. Only part-time workers count hours.

Ok. Then I will submit the application hoping it will get approved. Thanks for the guidance people.
