Hi all

I have a typical situation to deal with.
My wife is the Primary Applicant in FSW application
My wife is pregnant and her Expected Date of Delivery is second week of September 2018 and our CoPR expires in second week of October 2018
She was not pregnant when we made the application in October 2017, hence the CoPR is only for two of us.
Now, the problem is that the doctor has restricted her travel during pregnancy.
How can we deal with the situation now? How do we inform CIC about the change in medical circumstances at the first place? Our VO was Ottawa
Will they be able to cancel our existing CoPR and issue new once for all 3 of us? What is procedure to get the renewal?

Or would they simply let our CoPR expire and we will have to apply fresh all over again?
Kindly please let us know your valuable feedback
Thanking you in advance

Regards

Pre-Assessed..
You can raise a CSE (or contact your VO) after the birth of your child to inform IRCC of a change in family composition. A new COPR will be issued for the 3 of you.

You will also be required to provide birth certificate, medicals, passport, proof of funds (if applicable) of your child.

Hi DelPiero, thanks for the valuable feedback
The only worry is that the baby will be born in second week of September and our existing CoPR expires in second week of October
SO in that case we would have less than 4 weeks to submit all the documents including the passport and medicals of the new born
Wondering if the medicals can be done for less than 1 month old baby?
Also will IRCC accept our request for issuance of new CoPR to all 3 of us in just about the last week of our current CoPR expiry?
Our timelines are essentially very stretched and we may experience a touch and go situation.
In such circumstances, what is the best solution please. Thanks

You can intimate CIC about the situation with proof of DONOT travel as advised by doctor and expected date of delivery

Hi, we are in the same situation, where we received the copr in August last year valid till Jan this year. Our baby was born in December.

We informed the same day the baby was born via a CSE and received a letter after 3 days informing us that our file has been reopened. We did not get any further updates from them, but in the meantime, we got the birth registration (if you are outside India) , birth certificate and the passport for the baby, along with the proof of funds and uploaded it.

We got a response today from them to complete IMM008 and IMM5406E forms and pay the visa cost for the baby. That's after almost 3 months. We raised multiple cse's in that duration, but they seem to work at their own pace. They did inform us to NOT travel to complete the PR process.

I was expecting a request for us to submit the existing copr and passports to them to cancel them, but haven't received a request yet. It maybe done together when you get the passport request again.

So it doesn't matter that you have only 1 month after the baby is born, once you inform them about the addition, your file is reopened for you to submit the docs and once verified, they ask for the medicals which we are now waiting for.

They might ask for the you, your spouse and the baby to get the medicals done since your medicals would have expired by now or just extend your medicals and ask for the baby's medicals. Really depends on cic. All the best mate.

Thanks for the reply DHKA. Really appreciate it
So did you first inform them only after the birth of the baby?
Dint you inform CIC during the term of the pregnancy between August and December?
Also can you please let me know what all documents we need to submit when the file is re-opened?
Can you please share the IMM008 and IMM5406E forms with me as well.
Shall really appreciate your reply on above points. Thanks

I think if you see your copr letter, you need to inform them once the baby is born. Don't think they can do anything with the information that a baby is due, since god forbid there might be many complications during delivery.

Once the baby is born and all is good, you need to inform cic about it.

Once the baby is born, inform cic, get working on getting the documents (birth certificate, passport, proof of funds, passport size photos) ready.

Cic will ask you to fill the forms and pay the visa cost. This should complete the documents which are required.

I had to fill the IMM008 Dependant form

http://www.quebeciip.com/forms/canada/Nologin/CAN_Additional_Dependants_Declaration_IMM0008DEPENU.pdf

and the

IMM5406e form
