We received the "golden email" 10 days ago. We sent the passports to Mexico VO and they received them on Tuesday 5th Dec (8 days ago).
Our CIC account didn't change at all (still "in process"), and my husband needs his passport next Thursday (21st) for an international trip.
We wrote 4 emails (2 of them with "URGENT" in the subject, as advised by the Canadian Embassy - Shiller -) and we didn't get any reply.
We are thinking about to go to Miguel de Cervantes in person to ask about this issue, mainly because we still don't know if the email we received from them was real or fake...
Did someone go to the Immigration section in person? Do they let you in and ask?

My account did not change to "approved" until they sent me the COPR.
I'd be really surprised if they let you in.
