My work permit expires in June too! Received MR last week and I have my medical booked for this coming Friday. I'm not sure if I will need to apply for another BOWP or if its likely I'll get PR by then?

Do we need any documents from CIC for BOWP?

Yeah, I do think extending the work permit is a better idea.
So for BOWP, do we need a support letter from CIC?
I applied for a closed work permit after my PGWP expired in January 2017. This closed work permit expires in June in conjunction with my passport expiration. I'm not sure that if I go to the border with my new passport, will they extend it to two full years? Cuz it should be a two-year closed work permit.

My friend got into unnecessary trouble because of this. She was asked to stop working because her work permit expired while she was waiting for her PR (after passing medical), and was at risk of losing her job. She did almost three months at home without working. Don’t “hope” that you are going to get your PR before then (even though it’s highly likely), things could easily go sideways and cause unexpected delays. Please renew your BOWP.

Guys. I scheduled my medical exam for 23-March-2017. I am going for a vacation outside of Canada from 26-April to 2-June. I think I might be getting my PPR during that time. Can anyone please tell me what are the approximate times for getting PPR after medical? What should I do if I receive PPR during my vacation? I can't send my passport before my vacation because I will need it for travel. And I can't send it during my vacation because I would need it to return on time.

If u get ppr while u r outside Canada and u hv more than 15 days left for vacation then u can always request to change visa office and submit ur passport there or if u R returning soon then u can come back and send it here

how much they charged you ?

I went to do Medical last Thursday in Edmonton. Doctor charged me 250$ and for x Ray it was 50$ and for laboratory it was 100$ . So in total medical costs u 400$.
