PR renewal based on humanitarian reason

i intend to apply to renew my send expired PR based on humanitarian reason , I have strong ties in CANADA and my family have renewed their PR and are actually close to cistizinship .

I miss around 300 days and that is because i was taking care of my old parents in there sickness back home but last year they were both deceased ( I have proof of their situation)

So my question is
1- Do I really need to hire an expensive layer to help me itch the petition or can I send it myself with all documentation that support my case ?
2- any advice to avoid rejection or further delay since I cannot work with an expired PR

1. No lawyer needed, you can submit your application yourself. Include the H&C reasons with the application. You will need to supply proof of your parents illness (medical and doctors reports, death certificates, etc.
2. There is no actual need for a PR card in order to work. All an employer needs is your SIN number. Nothing else. The PR renewal does not renew your PR status, only the PR card. You only loose your PR status if you renounce your PR or IRCC revokes it. If you don’t plan on travelling, don’t renew it until you have met the 730 day requirement, just to be safe.

Hi all, has anyone here applied for pr renewal with H & C and got her pr card?
I applied on May and my status is still in process. They told me that they have sent my application to local office of the city I’m residing.
