My Spousal Sponsorship application was returned to me in the mail earlier this week. With it, there was a paper notifying me of the missing document and another piece of paper notifying me of the February update to the checklist. The note said:
"As of February 14th, 2018 you will be required to use the new checklist when submitting your application. You can tell if you're using the new version of the checklist if the bottom of the page is dated "(02-2018)".
The note also said:
"Note: If you intend to resubmit your application, please review all attached documents and ensure that you are using the new version of the Document Checklist."
On the website, it says...
"Although we have changed the checklists and the placement of some forms within the application process, the forms themselves have not changed as part of this update.
If you have been filling out an application using the previous version of the checklists (identified in the bottom left hand corner by version code 10-2017), we will still accept your application using that previous version until March 15, 2018. However, we encourage you to use the new checklist, guides and processes right away."
Does this mean that I can resubmit with the old checklist and wait on sending the Schedule A and Police Certificate? I do not have the FBI Letter as of yet and I am anxious to begin the process again. If I go with the new checklist, it would mean that I have to wait months to even begin again. If I can still get this out using the old forms, I would love that. But the paper says that it is now "required" to use the new one.
Any thoughts on what I could or should do would be wonderful.
