Hello!
Thank you very much for reading my question.
My wife (the principal applicant, Japanese resident living in Japan) has recently received a police certificate request. The details state that police certificates from family members over the age of 18 are also required.
I (the sponsor, Canadian resident living in Japan) would be glad to obtain a police certificate from the RCMP and upload it as part of my application, but unfortunately, the prefectural Japanese police department is unable/unwilling to take my fingerprints and sign them off as official documents. The RCMP and "accredited companies" that can digitalize my fingerprints say I should have my fingerprints taken by the local (Japanese) police, so I'm essentially stuck.
If I'm a Canadian resident and my SA is at "Decision Made", do I even need to submit a Canadian police certificate?
I will submit a Japanese police certificate to be safe, but I don't know if I have to/am able to obtain a Canadian one without traveling back to Canada for fingerprinting, which is impossible for me at the moment.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks.
