Can someone help me count # of years for work experience

Hi all,

I need some help in this situation:

PGWP: Issued on 27th NOV 2015

Company A: Start date: 10th Oct 2015 to 24th Mar 2016 (will this be counted from the Issued on 27th NOV 2015 of PGWP) ? if so then i worked full-time till 24th Mar 2016

Company B: Start date: 02 Aug 2016 to 5th Sept

Company C: Start date: 22nd July 2017 (started part-time while working full-time at Company B, worked part-time meanwhile for 5 hours a day for 5 days = 25hrs/week) later started full-time on Sept 6th 2017 to current

I took 3 weeks vacation in total 2 years i dont know they will deduct plus Xmax holidays etc

CAN I CLAIM FOR 2 YEARS WORK EXP IN THIS CASE?

When did you apply for your PGWP?

Also, you can count your vacations as long as they were paid.

Then you can count your work experience starting from Oct 10th, 2015.

Thank you so much, are you sure thou that they will count that period of work experience while i was waiting for my PGWP?

and if we count from 10th oct 2015 till current will i be fine to claim for 2 years, coz some people say 52 weeks per year some they hours matter i dont know im so confused

1 - Yes, i'm sure.
2 - If you're working full-time (30 hrs + per week) then hours are irrelevant. You must work for a period of a year (52 weeks) in order to claim a year of work experience.

Okay perfect, sorry for one more question,

See "proof of work experience." The letters need to include hours worked per week and most importantly, job duties and responsibilities. IRCC needs this info to determine whether you actually performed skilled work, and how much. If you cannot provide it (or provide proof of your employer's refusal and/or alternative documentation), chances are IRCC will not count that work experience.

If you did not specifically ask your employers to include this information, apologize and ask for new letters. You can show them the info from the IRCC website if you think that will help.

If they refuse, try to get that in writing (e.g. an email) so you have proof to give IRCC.

Hi all,

You have not indicated the NOCs, so I will just assume these are all skilled.

As long as this was 30 or more hours per week, count the # of complete weeks. I guestimate 22 weeks.

Company B: Start date: 02 Aug 2016 to 5th Sept 2017?
As long as this was 30 or more hours per week, you can count 57 weeks (as long as you had no unpaid leave of absence.)

Company C: Start date: 22nd July 2017 (started part-time while working full-time at Company B, worked part-time meanwhile for 5 hours a day for 5 days = 25hrs/week)
Since the part-time work was done at the same time as a full-time job, it does not add anything to your work experience. Nothing wrong with it, but 30+ hours per week is simply full-time, whether completed in one or more jobs.

Stat holidays and "reasonable paid vacation" count as employment. However, unpaid leave of absence does not. 3 weeks in 2 years is reasonable (well, I would call it unreasonable as in too little, but that is not what IRCC is concerned about).

If you are an hourly worker, sometimes you have 4% vacation pay added to your wages, so even if you don't get a paycheck for the time off, it would still count as paid vacation. (This is a case where having a paystub can be helpful, to show the vacation pay, if your employer does not include that info in your letter).

You need 104 weeks to claim 2 years. I estimate 103 (again, assuming no unpaid leave of absence). So hopefully you are still employed and can work another couple of weeks (give yourself a little extra room), then you can claim 2 years.

Well as per all the info, i think i will have 104 weeks till i apply for EE, one last concern about the NOC, my all these jobs were in the transportation companies

I assume the NOC's as follow (please correct me if i am wrong here)

Company A: job title: Receiving Clerk Supervisor NOC:1215

Company B: job title: Billing Clerk ( i saw this falls under level C so i dont know should i select NOC 1215 for this too as most duties match with this noc)

Company C: jot title: Administrative Assistant NOC: 1241

(please correct me if i am wrong here) - Not possible without knowing your job duties and responsibilities. IRCC does not use your job title to determine NOCs, but the job duties and responsibilities described in your letter of employment.

Unless your job duties and responsibilities clearly indicate the supervisory duties, IRCC will not accept 1215 for this. Be honest with yourself - if this was NOT a supervisory position, you will be better off accepting that you cannot use this experience, and find other ways to qualify.

I was not a supervisor but head in billing unit

They don't have to accept anything. They won't accept it without a description of job duties and responsibilities, regardless of your job title.

I understand that the jobs duties should match, one of a friend he did different jobs duties but still got the matching ones on the letter what happens in this case then?
