That really depends on personal circumstances. I have to travel quite a lot, and after I become Canadian (hopefully soon) I need to have a Canadian passport to be able to return home, since it is a requirement that all dual citizens return to Canada using their Canadian Passport. What difference do 48 hours make? None..
Oh I didn’t know that. I was thinking I can apply through Canada post.Biometric passports I believe have fingerprints in the chip, so you need to go in person for that reason.
I'd be inclined to follow the speed of processing of the office that handled my application.Hey
My question did any one have experience to apply for a passport same day after OATH CEREMONY. I know during oath ceremony they advise us to wait at least 48 hours for update information in system. But i heard from fellows and this forum people applied after oath same day and its work for them.
Thanks
Biometric passports do not include fingerprints . They only include a digital photo and the same information available on page 2 of the passport.Biometric passports I believe have fingerprints in the chip, so you need to go in person for that reason.
To you none... to others everything. What difference do 48 hours make? None..
Yes it looks like Canadian passports to not contain fingerprints. That's why you can also apply by mail.Fingerprints are NOT taken for Cdn passports.
Applying through CanadaPost will take longer, plus u will need to submit originals to them and it takes 2-3 weeks atleast.
Best to apply in person at passport office. You should be able to apply by next day.
You can try same day and see if passport office is able to do it. Otherwise apply in 1-2 days.
Get a 10-yr validity so that you're carefree for longer time than getting the 5-yr validity.
But make sure you attend the oath and get the certificate!
So possible through Canada post I think. ThanksBiometric passports do not include fingerprints . They only include a digital photo and the same information available on page 2 of the passport.
make sure your references and guarantor are ready to take call from passport office.......they will probably be called since u have urgent request for passportMy oath was last friday 23 feb. Lol.make sure your references and guarantor are ready to take call from passport office.......they will probably be called since u have urgent request for passport
Probably makes sense - but fyi - there are passport offices that open on Saturdays too. We have at least 2 in the Greater Toronto Area, one in Brampton and the other in Whitby. Not sure where you are located, but its worth to find out if there are any in your area. One reason people do that, Coffee, is because if you have to leave work and get your family together and travel to the Federal building, it's nice to be able to put in your passport application at that time instead of having to do it all again.
That's interesting. I became citizen on March 9th, which is Friday. They told us to apply at least after 3 business days, but I will try on Monday. ECAS shows COMPLETE.One simple trick. If you ecas shows COMPLETE that means you are on the system and you can apply.
