Marriage after ITA

Hi All,

A bit of a predicament here. I received my ITA a couple of days ago.

Will be going to get married in India on the 25th of March. My to be spouse has not started a single step of the document collection. She may be able to do everything (apart from the IELTS) in time, but that would keep our score below the ITA draw.

If she waits and registers for the IELTS, we would not make it in this pool. If I calculate my score based on:
1 - are you married: yes
2 - is your spouse coming to canada with you: No

then my points do not seem to be affected. Is that correct?

Any other suggestsion?

Pre-Assessed..
No. It means you will add her AFTER submitting your application so there's no recalculation to your score. You will both get PR assuming your application gets approved.

As already stated the above will only apply if you get married after submitting your e-APR.

Yes, it is understood that I will be getting married after I submit my online application. So after I submit my application, after marriage to I send them an additional letter informing them that I have been married? Will they ask for additional documentation?

How will they come to know that I have been married if I have submitted all my documents prior to marriage (stating that I am single)?

Thanks for the response. Just to clarify:

If I submit my application before marriage as a single applicant, she will be tagged along in my file?

But how will I inform the immigration Dept about my marriage? What documents will be requested of her?

Thanks for the response!

You would have to raise a CSE to update IRCC of the change in marital status: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

They will then request you several documents from your spouse such as marriage certificate, medicals, police certificates among other forms to fill out.
Hi @DelPiero07 , What if I have shown funds equivalent to one person and now want to add spouse in application (if get married after AOR)? Can I show additional funds while submitting other docs of spouse?
What is the better option
1. to get married before CoPR, or
2. Get PR and then sponsor spouse.

Also, is there any spouse visa option if I choose Option No 2 or she has to apply through Express Entry again with my sponsorship?

Please advise. Thanks.
