Pregnant while applying work permit

Will I be declined of work permit or PR application to Canada because I am old age (40) pregnant? No other illness history and no miscarriage.

Yes, they know. I am invited to apply for open work permit. Just wondered if old age pregnancy is an issue during medical exam.

They will want to delay the x-ray until after the pregnancy. Other than that, shouldn’t be a problem.

No. You won't get permit with incomplete medical exam.

Yes. We were in same situation and went ahead with X-ray exam with protection shield when baby was between 3-6 months into pregnancy.

Could you please tell me more about your experience? Will they question why you apply for work permit while pregnant? I'm afraid they would turn me away because I just turned 39 and got pregnant.

Turning old or getting pregnant is not a crime in Canada

CIC does not care as long as you have valid documents to process your work permit. In my case, my wife was pregnant while our PR was being processed.

How exactly are you qualifying for the work permit to begin with??

Also be aware that if you do get a work permit you may not work long enough to get paid a percentage of your salary during maternity leave.

Just a guess, but live in caregiver for a family member........can't see too many employers going ahead with a WP for someone who could be off for 12+ month unless they are family.
