Some people said they didn't get any date questions. Let's hope we get the same test.Even with these - trying to remember all the dates and names is very stressful.
this is " a nightmare on CIC street "Hey guys,
I hope everyone is doing fabulously today!
I just had a very bizarre and funny day of IRCC-related scares and want to share it with you guys (in an overly-dramatic and admittedly-rambly manner ).
Disclaimer: I know while this forum is a great source of information and comradery, all the timeline trackings and information sharing can induce a lot of misguided comparisons and stress. This post no way intends to invoke or promote unnecessary stress and anxiety during the citizenship application process. All dramatization in the story is to purely to entertain and share one story in an engaging manner.
Just for your background information, I have a minor b(1) Citizenship application that is currently in process.
First, I have a nightmare about getting a Quality Assurance Exercise (yup, it wasn't even an RQ but a QA, it said on the envelope) delivered to me in a giant envelope (that I somehow knew was from CIC). Inside, it was full of flyers of different groups and exams that were related to my past (ex: I saw a CIEE poster because I studied abroad; there was a French language exam, because I passed it last year, etc.), and I was like:"Wow, this CIC officer really did his/her research on me."
And then, I realized I had to redo all these exams and submit proof of anything else, and the stress of that jolted me awake.
As if having a nightmare of a bureaucratic application and gathering paperwork is not strange enough (I mean, it has to be the least epic, most boring nightmare ever), I had this feeling of something going wrong with my application the whole day.
I checked Ecas against my self-imposed restriction of checking twice a week and there was nothing. So I thought I was out of the woods.
HOWEVER, at 3 pm, I see two email notifications on my phone that were identically titled:
"Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada REFUND NOTICE // Immigration, Réfugiés et Citoyenneté Canada AVIS DE REMBOURSEMENT"
I glanced at the notification and the world around me went blank and fell silent (yes, in a cinematic way!).
I ignored the person that was previously speaking to me.
My mind frantically courses through any and all possible reasons that my application may be rejected at this stage:
I desperately try to recall any and all borderline questionable behaviour in my past. Maybe they found out about that time I took my friend's borrowed pen home and were just too lazy to give it back? Maybe it was that one library book that took me ten months to return?
Failing to find a reasonable explanation in my personal history, I turned to more exotic reasons: Maybe there was an emergency federal election last night and the conservative party has already changed Bill C(6) in the morning? Maybe the Walking dead was about to ensue and there is no use for citizenship anymore?
Or maybe the worst of all, I was somehow deemed not good enough to be Canadian.
Then, I thought about how long I would have to wait to initiate a new application and the tunnel of waiting that now has no end in sight.
Somehow, there was still a rational, calm part of me that directed myself to open the email first.
And what do I know, it was to inform me that IRCC is now reducing the minor's b(1) application fee by $430 CAD and it was going to give me a refund of that amount.
My application was not rejected nor was the Walking Dead about to ensue, I just saved $430 dollars and I almost had an extended heart attack about it.
So, yeah, moral of the story: don't be too anxious about your application, if you've done nothing incorrectly then there is no need to worry. Also, if you have applied for a Minor B(1) Citizenship Grant after June 19th, you may qualify for a refund and don't freak out about it when you get the email.
Lastly, I hope this gave at least some of you a laugh .
Yes, I had a good laugh! Very entertaining! You should be a script writer (maybe you already are).Hey guys,

How exactly is the per stamp tallied?
If I have 4 stamps on one page of my passport, is the charge $7 or $7x4 ($28) ?
Thank you in advance for the clarification
For some they are done before, for others vice-versa. Your checks must still be in progress.Question for seniors, Are background checks(security clearance) done before test or after test.
I had my test and interview on February 15 in Edmonton and there is no Decision made yet.
Mississauga is the slowest of all.Looks like the process has slowed down, its taking longer to get the test invites.
