I called IRCC today and I was told the following info about my case:

Security Checks - Complete
Criminal Checks - In progress
Background Check - will be set to complete after criminal checks are finished.

My app was received on Oct 17, 2017 and IP - since Jan 14, processed at Vancouver office.

I am actually wondering what exactly they check in Criminality?
The agent was certain that they will send test invite once criminality is complete.

Edited to add: Got FP request - Jan 29, Completed - Feb 1 and Received by IRCC - Feb 8. Mine wouldn't have any adverse results.

If anyone can help me understand about this criminality check, I will be grateful. Thanks

Lucky you they gave you information. When i called them today they said your app is in progress. That's it ...that was their answer.

No, background check includes security and criminality checks.

I got a letter from CIC requesting my husband's fingerprints (again, they did for the PR). If I log in myCIC doesn't show anything. I just got the AOR weeks ago, no IP. Is that normal?.

FP can be requested for one or more applicants in the same family. AOR to IP can take 2-4 weeks depending on location, sometimes longer. Please refer to the sheet for averages, for your location.

No, background check includes security and criminality checks.

No one here can tell you that. These checks are performed by external-to-IRCC agencies like RCMP, CSIS. It all depends from person to person, case to case, and your background.

I am in the same boat. RCMP sent the fingerprint results on feb 06,2018. Did you hear anything from CIC whether they received it or not?

Nothing yet. Although my Citizenship Test is on 26th February. [This Monday]

Yes, FP Request doesn't seem affect Test Invitation.
