Hello everyone,

My marriage is not an arrange marriage (married in court and temple have both registration) none of our family members were there. Therefor we dont have too many pictures of wedding. We have contact records for last 18months and other documents to support the genuine relationship.
I have heard that if I say that my parents did not meet my spouse and dont have a story like a arrange marriage my case is complicate.
Kindly give your views (I know m not related to 2017 applicants but as people here have applied so if anybody have the same situation your response will be appreciated)
Thank you

if it is a genuine relationship and you can provide evidences in terms of photos and show that you had a 18 month relationship prior to getting married then it shouldn't be a problem. However in Indian marriages, often times when parents aren't there- it usually is questioned! You can include a letter in your application explaining why your parents were not present at the wedding. Anytime you have a doubt on something, always include an explanation letter for it- because think of it this way- if you have a doubt, it is natural for a case officer to have a doubt too- so always include explanations. Again, include as much evidence as you can i.e. chat history, gift exchanges, flights, photos, wedding pictures! Worst case scenario- will just be an interview to see if your marriage is genuine or not- but in genuine case this does not happen! Don't worry! Collect evidence!

As I mentioned in one of my earlier post, it seems like they are heavily under staffed. And seems like they have given spousal sponsorship lowest priority.. that’s the only reason i see for this delay. We don’t have any other option other than to wait. :(
So what I found from my search is that study permits or other temporary visas AND permanent resident visas for federal class, Canadian experience class and express entry are dealt by new delhi, chandigarh, and Bangalore. Other visas, including outland spouse visa are only dealt by NDVO. So it’s not really true that NDVO deals with all visas and there are other visa offices in India that also deals with some PR and most temporary visas!

The delay from NDVO is also from the influx of huge amount of student VISA applications received recently. NDVO has to keep rotating and transfering more VOs from other VOs to process those application as well.

we can sit here and reason their incompetency all we want- the plain and simple of it all is that they are very incompetent and slow and this "new faster processing change" has seriously failed miserably. Yes maybe 80% of the files are being processed with 12 months but in this time- the straight forward applications that may have been processed within 7 months in the old ways are now targeted to be processed in 12 months- how does that even make sense? May applicants who have been interviewed have been given DMs and PPRs while those who have not been queued to be interviewed have not even seen a BGC update. The plain and simple of it all is that- this new change has harmed straight forward cases a lot and that's the tragedy of it all. 2017 applicants have become guinea pigs and that's the reality of it all.

If they cannot handle the job given to them they can mention it to the CIC so that the CIC can find a way out...They can’t just play with our lives by keeping our application on hold for months....
