Hi everyone, I could really use your help and advise regarding my Express Entry Profile.

I was so glad to finally receive my ECA report on 29th, and immediately I went to my incomplete saved profile to add the ECA number and submit it after carefully reviewing all my details.

Then after a minute or so of submitting it, I receive a message with a PDF attachment saying the following:

Your Express Entry profile has been reviewed and we have determined that you are not eligible for Express
Entry at this time.

Thought I must have done something wrong for sure...so I went ahead and made another profile and after reviewing all the details I hit submit. But once more the result is the same...

I just don't understand what could be wrong...any help would be appreciated as I'm feeling so down right now. :(

Also, I already looked through the other threads where people were having the same problem, but it seems either they were actually ineligible (IELTS score too low, Age too old, Funds too low...etc) or they were but they didn't reply further.

In particular I checked this thread but it seems to be inactive, so I'm copying and pasting the details mentioned there:
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/profile-ineligible-post-here.416165/

Immigration program (FSW, CEC, FST): FSW
LMIA-approved job offer (Yes / No): No

Language test taken (for IELTS, indicate whether general or academic): General
Date of language test results: 17-APR-2017
Score Listening: 8.5
Score Reading: 8.0
Score Writing: 7.5
Score Speaking: 7.5

Proof of funds (C$): 20000 (according to the CIC website, $12,300 is enough for one, so I put a bit more. However, I can add a much larger amount if it will make a difference)
# of family members (you + spouse + kids): 1 (just me)

Your highest degree: Bachelors Degree
Canada or foreign? Foreign
Do you have an ECA for this? Yes

The longest period of continuous foreign work experience in one NOC in the last 10 years: 5 years
Number of hours per week: 8 (technicaly according to my contract, actually I work around 10 or more but I don't know if it matters)
NOC Code: 2281

Sum of Canadian work experience in the last 3 years: 0 (no Canadian experience)
Number of hours per week: 0 (no Canadian work experience)
NOC Code(s): N/A

What is your FSW score (for FSW applicants only):
Language: 24/24 (IELTS equivilancy = CLB 10)
Education: 21/25 (Bachelors, ECA assessment completed)
Experience: 13/15 (more than 5 years)
Age: 12/12 (30 years old)
Arranged Employment: 0/10 (No arranged employment)
Adaptability: 0/10 (No spouse)
Total: 70

Did you only work 8 hours per WEEK?!
....

DOH!
I honestly don't know how I could have read that as 'per day'
Stupid brain, curse your reading comprehension :p

But man, thanks a lot for pointing this out, this must be the reason for sure. Do you think I should wait before creating a new profile, or should I go right ahead?

Thanks, yes I made sure of both. eng.ahamdi is probably right, it's the # of hours worked per week that is the issue here!

Thank you so much! I submitted the profile and this time it went through :)

For anyone else reading this, please, please make sure you read every question carefully to make sure you have not misread/misinterpreted anything like I did.

Absolutely understandable in a high stress situation like this! Looks like I should invite a few friends over when I'm making the profile.

You do not meet the required funds.
Also, we do not know your score under the six selection factors.

You need to provide proof of funds for your entire family even if they are not accompanying you.

This is what the cic website says:
The amount of money you need to support your family is set by the size of your family. To calculate the size of your family you must include:

  • yourself
  • your spouse or partner
  • your dependent children and
  • your spouse’s dependent children
This includes your spouse or dependent children who are permanent residents or Canadian citizens.

You will need to show proof that you have enough money when you apply to immigrate. This table shows the minimum amount you need. If you have more money, you should list the full amount in your profile or application

Here is the link https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/become-candidate/eligibility/proof-funds.html

What others have said, your proof of funds isn't sufficient. You need at least $19,093 since there are three people in your family.

Thanks a lot DelPiero07, Indigrrl and scylla, I will try to fix the funds and re-submit tonight. I thought since family is not accompanying, I could get away with showing less :)

Sorry DelPiero07, my age is 37. Rest of the factors I have already suggested I guess.

There is one confusion however. WES has evaluated my MA as Bachelors - 4 years and my BA as Bachelors - 3years. But when I enter the qualification in the profile, I have to show the duration of my Masters 2 years, while WES will show 4 years or more. To avoid this contradiction, I am leaving out MA for now and only showing BA 3 years. Don't want another "ineligible" from them. I can always add MA later on I guess?

If you do that you will fall under the required 67 points under the six selection factors and thus, making your profile ineligible once again.
