Congratulations!Test date : 11/11/2017
Score: L9 R9 S7.5 W6.5
Remark requested : 26/11/2017
Got the results on 22/1/2018
Writing was increased to 7
It took alot of time but it worth if you need half band in writing or speaking only
I agree with you to some extent. It's like a gamble. You win the score and get back your money or you lose both of them.Congratulations, that is truly good news
The point I'm trying to make is that how far off you are from your goal has nothing to do with your success rate- it's whether or not your writing was originally marked incorrectly, which in your case is clearly what happened.
The other side of this coin is the vast number of others who were also in need of a half band and didn't get it- they far, far outnumber you, unfortunately.
Let's think of it this way- if you saw a guy coming out of a casino with a big bag of free money, would you conclude that the casino was a great place to invest your hard-earned money? I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't, because such an idea is ridiculous.
The IELTS remark scam is much the same. Actually, your odds are probably better at the casino, lol.
Let’s also think of it this way - you are a certified examiner and have remained associated with IELTS. You have also stated in your earlier posts that the organization is a scam and test takers are part of the problem by allowing them to manipulate and extract our hard earned money. So I am curious to know that have you ever been asked to mark an exam unfairly for this purpose?Congratulations, that is truly good news

No they keep giving the standard reply - more updates on 26th Feb.
Same standard replies, but I have irritated them to the core. If they can make us wait so long without any reason, we can also teach them lesson. No they keep giving the standard reply - more updates on 26th Feb.
Did you hear anything ?
Yes I received and it’s unchanged. Now I understand why people are saying better to go for retake rather than recheck. Totally waste of money and time. Wish luk everyone for EORNo they keep giving the standard reply - more updates on 26th Feb.

I believe @saani received result and is giving the test again.
Hey - I got it today. No change !
I was thinking same before. But now my perception has changed. It’s really a money minting business nothing else. My score was L/R/W/S 8.5/9/7.5/6.5...If you're in doubt with only 1 IELTS category and the other 3 have good band score, remark is a good option. However, if you're in doubt with 2 or more sections, better retake IELTS.
All the best to those who applied for a remark! I've known a lot of people who applied for it and received a higher score so keep the spirit up!
Yes that’s quite strange. Is it any particular post or the entire thread? For everyone's information, the thread where I offered to evaluate your chance for a remark has been DELETED.
Strange?

Well they keep the spirit up by keeping a remark success rate at below 10% as @Xmnr has pointed out. Technically reimbursing the remark fees for not more than 10% to entice the significant remainder to pay for an unsuccessful remark. That’s surely a good business strategy. If you define a good option as a likelihood of 8%, then yes, it's quite good...
Good luck !Hey - I got it today. No change !
Planning for a second attempt now. All the best to you all
