Spouse Open Work Permit - Online Application - Approved (Timeline)

Hello everyone. Just have a few questions. Hope you can help me.

I am a full-time student in BC to become a registered nurse. and right now, I am currently employed at VCH(Vancouver Coastal Health-Vancouver General Hospital) as health care assistant. I want my wife and my kids to come here. My wife will apply for Spouse Open Work Permit and my 2 kids as tourist visa. Also, I have a brother who is a permanent resident and working as a nurse, and a cousin who is also a nurse. They are both willing to support us during our stay here in Vancouver like financially, accommodations, food, etc...

My questions are:
1. Do I need a huge amount of money(settlement fund) for my kids to show to visa officer?
2. Will my employment at the said hospital somehow help my wife to get approved for SOWP and my kids as well?
3. Does my kids need to undergo medical exam? or just my wife?(btw, I applied online...answer some few questions... and they didn't ask for medical exam for my kids.)

Hope anyone can answer my questions.
