I am new here, I am on a student visa and married to a Canadian. Just wondering if I can flagpole to get my open work permit. I already submitted my spousal sponsorship application.

No - you cannot.

Assuming you submitted an inland spousal sponsorship application (rather than outland), you'll need to mail in an OWP application as well.

Flagpoling isn't permitted.

Yes, I submitted an inland application and submitted an application for an OWP separately. Unfortunately, my OWP application got sent back due to missing document. I got a job and need the OWP ASAP. That's why I am inquiring.
A friend got his OWP in 2016. He was inland application too. Just checking if this is still applicable in 2018

Well no..if your OWP app got sent back and you didn't resubmit it you cant just show up at a border and get one. Is that what you're asking if you can do?

You will have to resubmit the OWP application, with the missing document, and wait until it's approved.
