Hi everyone,
I am sep-10 -2016 applicant, Hopping for PPR by end of this month.
My passport is expiring in first week of Aug-2018 , which is less then 6-month .
Is CIC going to stamp for my P.R, even if passport has less than 6-month of Validity?

probably CIC will ask you to send updated passport. so try to get new one and update your PR with new using webform.
I heard passport should be at least 6 months or 1 year...I remembered my friend applied for a new passport before ppr ...

I'm in the same boat my passport expires in the end of August 2018 , I'm gonna wait and see what they say if they say apply for a new one will do. I'm August 15 2016 applicant. we just need to get PR cards and the visa doesn't matter anymore am I right?
It’s better to renew ur passport it just took me 3 weeks to get the new passport

I spoke to an agent and he said BG is not started yet, your file is in Sydney, you are still in (18 months )processimg time , 80% file we process under 18 months , some might take longer, there are couple of files are ahead of you needs to clear,
By the way , I am Aug 22 2016 applicant

I believe they are referring to the files remaining from april may june july etc
dont trust them ..I called them yesterday agent said your security has not started yet .
And today she said we are working on your security check from last week .
I am July 25 and nothing yet!I think there are few left from July that still are waiting
