Former international student with post-graduate work permit.

Hi,

I have completed my high school studies (grades 11 & 12) in Toronto and then moved on to complete my bachelor studies one of Toronto universities in field of computer science. Both were done as an international student. After that I acquired post-graduate work permit in August of 2017 ans tarted to work with one of Canadian banks in IT field in November 2017.

In short, I am wondering what would be fastest and most efficient way of obtaining permanent residence in Ontario for me. As far as I understand as of now, best option for me is getting good marks on my English test and applying for PR through express entry after one year of work, which would be November 2018.
However I don't know too much about Canadian Experience Class and Provincial Nominee programs and I was wondering if they would be a better option?

Please advise

P.S. I would also like to ask if general training test with IELTS would be sufficient for my English exam?

Canadian Experience Class is a stream under Express Entry (EE).

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) are generally slower if done by themselves. What I mean by this is that there are PNP programs in the Federal Level and there are those linked to Express Entry. Think of the latter as boosters (+600) to your score in case it doesn't reach the ITA threshold for Express Entry. You shouldn't really bother with these if you can get into CEC.

To answer your question, as long as you have enough points to potentially be invited under Express Entry (CEC specifically), then that's your best bet. For your case, the next logical step would be to take the IELTS exam (Yes, the General one) and use your results to gauge your EE Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points and go from there.
