Hi

I am a Canadian Citizen living outside Canada and I am in the process of filing my application for sponsoring my wife and child . I was previously divorcee and so is my present wife prior to our present marriage. My present wife has child out of her previous marriage and also has one child out of our present wife. The child born out of our second marriage is already Canadian Citizen and we are planning to move back to Canada.

1. Can any one guide me as to how to submit all the hard copies of the documents as per IMM 5533 i.e is it in a file ? am I required to file by punching holes and compile it in a file ??

2. Can any one share the format of letter regarding the how I am going to support my self and family ?

3. Step by step process for paying the fee online.

4. How to prove that I will leave in Canada with my wife and kids once she becomes Permanent resident of Canada? Any format of letter ?

5. Any specific tips for filing under

Many thanks and best regards.

You should first read through the Basic Guide https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-5525-basic-guide-sponsor-your-spouse-partner-child.html

It answers some of your questions

Also, if your wife does not have sole legal custody of her child from her first marriage, your wife will need to have have the permission of the father for the child to immigrate. IMM 5604. If the father refuses you'll need to resolve this in Family Court before you can submit the Spousal Sponsorship application.

For fees, you'd pay online here by selecting what it is you are paying fees for.
You'd choose Permanent Residence, and you'd pay the fees for your wife and her non-Canadian child
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/pay.asp
You print off the receipt as your proof of payment and send it with your application package.

Your Canadian child will need proof of being a Canadian - a Canadian Passport. If the child's birth certificate is not issued in Canada, you will need to apply for a Certificate of Citizenship ASAP as it takes about 6 months for that process.

For a spousal sponsorship, you do need to show your employment information (details in the checklist/basic guide) but there is no minimum income level to achieve. You just need to demonstrate how you will support your family so that you won't go on welfare once you're in Canada.

To prove you intend to move back to Canada, you should provide correspondence with Canadian realtors if you plan on buying a house, or rental agencies if you will be renting. Also, show that you are looking for employment in Canada. Documenting your own research into settling in Canada is what will convince CIC that you intend to move back to Canada.

Hi Jordo,

Very kind of you for your prompt advise. Meanwhile can you please advise the correct way of compiling the hard copies of the documents.. i.e can we punch the holes and put them in the file in a conventional manner or we have to put a bulldog clip on the bunch documents??

Also appreciate if you or any one can share the format of letter that one intend to move back to Canada

Cheers.

Don't use folders/dividers/staples. It is specifically stated NOT to do this.

Some people use paperclips (sparingly).

I personally just sent mine as a pile of papers, in the order specified, with the barcode pages and checklist at the top.

Hi Weeggie,

How to put a pile of papers (especially when some documented has multiple pages ). Appreciate your guidance.

Thanks and very best regards.

I used paperclips to keep forms separate. I used large document sized elastics to keep sections separate. And used the checklist as the table of contents for the package.

They are well aware that forms have multiple pages.

I literally just had a pile of paper sheet, the forms in page order (except the barcodes), the order as per the checklist.

As I said others used paperclips etc and that's been fine but folders/staples/binders are a no go.
