Hello,

My partner and I use a joint email account for a lot of financial and personal things so we can both easily access things we need. When the visa application forms have asked for an email address, we have both listed this same address as we thought it would be good for us both to get the email updates. Is this going to be a problem, does this mean we need to fill out a "use of representative" form? Should we have put our own personal emails instead?

Thanks!

It's totally fine to use the same email address.

Wonderful! Thanks!

You may use your personal emails. It would be best for you guys to use just one email address all throughout the application. Just like what you have said you have a joint email address. That would not be aproblem coz thats where theyre going to send you notifications.

Use of representative is when you guys are going to have someone process the application other than yourself and your husband.

Not exactly. The Use of Representative form is also used to make the sponsor the representative for the PA, in cases where the PA would like all mail communication sent to the sponsor in Canada.

Yeah, that's why I was curious about the Use of Representative form in case it looks like we're trying to get all info sent to one email for just one person and we need to nominate each other as representatives. But I'm thinking that's not the case with this.

I see, I do apologize for the confusion I might have caused to anoyone... but thank you as well for correcting me. ☺

  • Sponsor dont need to sign Use of Representative form
  • have PA sign Use of Representative form
  • use same email = OK
