I just hit two years of work experience Jan 1, 2016 (two different companies, for the same client). My current score is 440, can I expect an increase? If yes by how much (I'm okay with estimates).

Thats what I understand too, but I got points for the dec 2014 experience (implied status) as I wasn't a full time student then and had completed all my study requirements.

Wish they gave more clarity.

How was your PR process. Can you share your experience?

I am also in the similar situation now. I received ITA.

- I received degree completion letter from University on 23-Feb-2015
- I applied for the post-graduate work permit (PGWP) online on 24-Feb-2015
- My study permit was valid till 31-March-2015. From 1-April-2015, I was on implied status till 7-May-2015
- But the date issue of PGWP is on 8-May-2015
- I received ITA on 1-June-2016

Scenario1:
Job1 : Company A
Status: Part time
Duration : 1-Mar-2015 to 08-Aug-2015 (PGWP issued on 8-May-2015)
Total weeks: 23 weeks (I have been told that 18hrs/30hrs=0.6, 23 weeks*0.6= 13.8 full-time weeks)
Hours/week : 18 hrs
Total hours : 23weeks*18hrs=414hrs

Note: 09-Aug-2015 to 16-Aug-2016, I didn't work.

Job2: Company B
Status : Full time
Duration : 17-Aug-2015 to 1-June-2016 (I received ITA on 1-June-2016)
Total weeks : 41 full-time weeks and 3 days
Hours/week : 37.5
Total hours : 41.3 weeks*30hrs=1239hrs

Job1 (13.8 full-time weeks) + Job2 (41 full-time weeks) = Total (54.8 full-time weeks and 1653hrs), In this case, I completed 1 year.

Scenario2:
Job1 : Company A
Status: Part time
Duration : 8-May-2015 to 08-Aug-2015 (Start date as per PGWP issue date instead of actual job start date which is on 1-Mar-2015)
Total weeks: 13 weeks and 1 day (I have been told that 18hrs/30hrs=0.6, 13weeks*0.6= 8 full-time weeks)
Hours/week : 18 hrs
Total hours : 13weeks*18hrs=234hrs

Note: 09-Aug-2015 to 16-Aug-2016, I didn't work.

Job2: Company B
Status : Full time
Duration : 17-Aug-2015 to 1-June-2016
Total weeks : 41 full-time weeks and 3 days
Hours/week : 37.5
Total hours : 41.3 weeks*30hrs=1239hrs

Job1 (8 full-time weeks) + Job2 (41 full-time weeks) = Total (49 full-time weeks and 1473 hrs). As per sceanrio2, I require 3 more full-time weeks. Then I will complete my 1 year only on 20-June-2016.

When do I complete my 1 year of Canadian work experience?

Can I accept the ITA which I received on 1-June-2016 or not?

I explained my above scenario to a lawyer and she told me that she can only give legal opinion on it. If I am not full-time student and also I am working legally (i.e. with a valid study permit and also applied for the post-graduate work permit) then my experience (in the period of 25-Feb-2015 to 7-May-2015) should be eligible for 1 year of Canadian work experience.

My situation is same.
I joined company as soon as i graduated in 30 april 2015 but my work permit came in 4 august 2015.
What did you select in your work experience in Express Entry profile. From work permit or actual work exp after graduation ?

I was thinking to select from actual work exp after graduation and then provide a letter of explanation because my current work exp is any way more than 1 year even on PGWP .

My understanding is that as soon as you receive your letter of graduation and you apply for a PGWP - you are eligible to work under PGWP and no longer considered a student - so the work experience during implied status should count. The link here specifies this: http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/section-186.html:

w) if they are or were the holder of a study permit who has completed their program of study and

(i) they met the requirements set out in paragraph (v), and

(ii) they applied for a work permit before the expiry of that study permit and a decision has not yet been made in respect of their application.

Hi guys.. here is my question.

according to CIC website, I year of experience in calculated based on hours (30hrs/week) which makes 1560hrs/yr (3120hrs/2years)
I started working from 25th May,2015 to present date.. and my question is..

a) as per my job offer letter (40hrs/week) i have worked for 2920hrs till date and I'm short of 200hrs
b) other thing is every weeks I worked for 50hrs which is OT, since these hours are shown on my paychecks; can I count these hours??

Please guys.. i need your help.

If you started working on 25 May 2015, then you have almost 1.5 years of work experience. If you continue working full time (40 hours per week), you will have two years of experience on 25 May 2017. Don't count hours, you must satisfy both the minimum hours AND minimum time frame requirements. There are many, many, many threads on this topic.

Your valid work experience starts from the date you applied for your PGWP.

One more question. Can I leave country in between my experience by taking vacations from the company? Will that time span I am out of the country be considered an experience?

A reasonable amount of paid vacations can be counted. If they are unpaid then you cannot count them.

Also, your study permit becomes invalid 90 days upon completion of your program.

June 28th.

You should be aware that your work experience between April 26 - June 28th was unauthorized. (Under old rules, you could work for 3 months post-graduation, but since 2017 that is no longer true).

2. Do you think I should apply for the remaining 2yrs of PGWP as I felt I would get my PR before September 1st but now I'm confused

It might be unnecessary, but it will take the pressure off to get PR right away.

3. When can I get into the pool

When you have a full year of eligible work experience.
