Hi guys. Is there any place I can get the digital photo as required for eAPR? Will Costco or CVS provide it to me or should I just scan a real photo?
I clicked a photo with my phone (had someone click it for me). Used an online photo tool to size it according to the eAPR requirements and used that photo. It worked out just fine.

I did check on them. However, this is what I got when I asked for a quote: "At this time, U-Pack does not service the city or ZIP code you are moving to on a direct basis. We have taken the liberty to provide a quote to our nearest terminal location where you may unload your items."

And the nearest location is about 500 miles away. :(
...Where are you moving to??

I used a passport photo app on my phone for the application. For the PPR I had to find a local photo shop that would actually do them to IRCC specs.

You authorize them to. RBC for example has a US division that can do it. I was warned against mixing up my US dealings and my Canadian dealings though. Each time someone on either side of the border dings your credit in the US, your score can drop.
The drop is because it is a hard inquiry. It is the same drop you would encounter for eg. if you applied for a mortgage in the US to buy a US house.

If things work out, we're looking to move to Prince George, BC (we have family there). Upack says the nearest delivery point is Surrey, BC.
Ah yeah. Surrey is the one I used. It's basically at the US border.

I'm aware of why it would occur. I was pointing out that someone who is setting up a new life in Canada (thus requiring initial inquiries) might not want to take the hit on their US established credit.

I'm planning to export my Nissan versa sedan which doesn't have remote key entry, it's all manual. When I checked riv website for Nissan it states EIS (Electronic immobilizer system) and DRL may be needed. It appears since I have only manual key entry I might have to go for an aftermarket EIS, can anyone share their experience if it's possible to install aftermarket EIS and estimated cost.

Does your car happen to be older? I thought the rule was if the car is 15 years or older the rules about updates like that and daytime running lights don't apply - but double-check me on that of course, if it's even a possible workaround for you.

Well shoot, I was hoping you could skip the whole issue. I hope it's not too bad to take care of! If you have a trusted mechanic I'd give them a call and see what they think it would cost. You may as well check with an official dealer too just to cover all your bases.
Thanks. I will try that.

Hello guys, I just got PPR and was wondering if it’s possible to send my passport to New York and not Ottawa. Did anyone do this ?

I just got my PPR email. It says US citizens just need to send photocopies of their passports along with photos. What do we get for CoPR then if we don't have a passport stamp? Do they send a form or something? I'm also wondering which mail service everyone used. Thanks!
