Reapplying for ICT Work permit

Hi All,

My employed raised my ICT work permit request under 'specialised knowledge' in August 2017, but it got refused for below reason:

"You have not demonstarted that you come within the exceptions under section 186 of the regulations exempting you from the requirement to obtain a work permit or that your employment in Canada comes within the exceptions to section 203 of the regulations".


My employer wishes to reapply for the same. How long shall i wait before reapplying to have best chances of getting it approved.?

1. As IRCC has determined that the position in Canada doesn't require specialized knowledge, then it is unlikely that it would be approved the second time around. But if you employer wants to re-apply, then unless s/he is able to demonstrate why you have the knowledge that wasn't shown in the first application, you can expect another refusal.

I am not sure what criteria does IRCC have to determine the specialized knowledge, as 2 colleagues of mine got it approved with same skillset and similar number of years in experience. They applied 3 months after me though.
