How Much Time It Takes From Passport to Visa Stamped via VFS

I think i am the only one left from december submissionsSo tensed..No source to contact delhi high commision..They dont reply to mail even.

When did you submit your passport? Do you have dependents in your application ?

My husband is in canada.I was dependent.He submiited his passport in Ottawa and I submitted at VFS chandigarh on 14Dec.My husband got his passport back on 10 january..Mine is still pending.

Any updates? Looks like the average waiting time is between 2 weeks to a month to get the passport stamped!

Hi guys, what happens if the photos you submit With the passport does not match exact specifications? I mean when submitting at VFS physically?

I am afraid the photos I submitted might not be an exact fit with all the specifications.

Do they inform you via SMS/ email/ tracking number. Or do they reject is as incomplete and ask to resubmit the passport?

After submission of passport and photos at VFS, is it also required to upload the same at CIC website?

When I check my submitted application at cic, it is showing to upload photos and passports. However the PPR letter has a note that do not upload any passport and photos to your application online...Can some help to clarify.

You only have to submit passport and photos at VFS. No need to upload online. Nowhere have I heard that you need to upload it into account. It is strange you have such a message in your account as nothing like that in my case.

It is not a message in my cic application. Below messages in cic portal inside each application, there is a button which says , View Submitted Application.
On click, it would take you to show a list of documents which an applicant had submitted. There I am seeing this message in font of passport and photos rows.

Shrish, what you are seeing is the checklist of documents that we submitted after ITA. You would have already submitted passport scan and digital photos. Is it showing passport scan and photo not submitted somehow in your account? It should show as submitted already. It does in mine.

Following are the challenges-
1. Uploading passport and digital photo last date is today.
2. I do not have a passport with me now as it's submitted to vfs for stamping.
3. I do have a passport copy scanned some days back but it does not have recent abroad trip entry/exit stamps

Following are the challenges-
1. Uploading passport and digital photo last date is today.
2. I do not have a passport with me now as it's submitted to vfs for stamping.
3. I do have a passport copy scanned some days back but it does not have recent abroad trip entry/exit stamps

Honestly this is very unusual. Because they should have asked for a fresh passport scan and photo before passport request. And now they seem to be rushing this thing. Do they have a reason to do so? You seem like a very frequent international traveler. And I am guessing hey have knowledge that you were travelling even when submitting te form? That may be the reasn for a fresh passport scan request.

In present circumstances the only thing you can do is upload the latest passport scan page available and latest photo. And if it's possible upload a fresh letter of explanation too, mentioning passport scan is not latest but that's the best you can do as it is with them for processing.

All in all, I don't think they will reject your application this way. Afterall you aren't not hiding anything, your passport is with them and they can check anything they want. It may delay the process a but but that should be ok. Just fulfill the technical requirement, that is submit the passport scan and photo.

No need to worry mate. From what I have read here peoples passport are getting ready in 7-10 days time on average. So you are still within that time. ( mine also waiting after 5 days) in your case there was a cause of slight delay plus yours is a joint case. So expect in 2-4 days. Keep posted here on the outcome. Cheers

Hi Guys,

I have a real problem at hand. I got my passport stamped in July 2017. I got married in Oct 2017 and had to travel to Belgium for a long term assignment. Upon reaching here, I informed the CIC about my change in Marital Status. Owing to this they asked me to submit my passport to cancel my visa. I submitted it to the VFS Paris office on 14th Dec 2017 and was sent to the Canadian Embassy in Paris on 15th Dec 2017. Ever since the status of my passport has not changed.

I have followed up with the VFS office a multiple times, they say its at the canadian visa office, Paris and have no clue when the passport be returned.

I am really worried. I need my passport back as I have to travel back to India in a week. Any help on the situation would be highly appreciated.

You can directly email or go to the embassy and talk. Its a bit of walk from the metro station. Try to go there and speak to them. I was in a similar situation where I needed my OCI card urgently as I was leaving Paris for good and they did help me.

Hi folks anyone here who has submitted passport in Abu Dhabi. submitted my passport to Abu Dhabi thru VFS Qatar on the 4th Jan . Im worried now owing to that fact that Qatar is banned from UAE. Can anyone throw anylight on this or any other thread that i can follow.
