Hi there. What month of applicant are you, sir? Mine was in May 2017. I'm the sponsor. We're still waiting for any kind of update such as the one you got through email. Also out of curiosity, did a status update on your CIC account online such as Background Check? If so, what did it change to?

Also, is there anyone here who are of May 2017 applicants and got the email as of the original topic creator (upkar singh)?

PLEASE ANSWER IM LOOSING MY MIND my husband just got his Ppr request in Islamabad he's getting it and I need to book his flight he is afghan citizen with a Canadian visa the only way to get to Canada is he needs to travell to Dubai so does he need to get a Dubai visa as well ??

Congrats for getting the PPR. You dont need visa if he is staying at airport. Btw What is your timeline? Are you 2017 applicant or 2016?

Hi, I also received the same email and not sure why they are sending this email now since we have got AOR2 in Sept itself.
Did you figured out why they are sending this email? In my case it says, we will start processing within next 2 months and we will update you in May or June.

Good for you! We're like I said, May 2017 applicant, and still waiting to hear any kind of update from the ndvo.

I guess it has been specifically sent to July applicants, so us May applicants could also predict the timeline through their email I guess.. ours would most likely be finalized by March/April. Hopefully faster, but hey atleast we know that there is some sort of deadline- which is a good thing, as we have been in the dark for so long!

haha trust me this is a good thing! rather than not knowing what's going on with your application- at least you have a set deadline to look forward to!

Wow! I just read all posts and looks like all July applicants got this email. Surely good thing atleast they have some courtesy email!!
As it is 12 months processing time, so may be its a general email that status will be updated in May or June adhering to what they claim.
Hope May and June get it quickly

My GCMS notes also says about Pilot program and about "15 special projects" like @nbhagat , but haven't got any lucky indications from NDVO yet.

I also got Email today by NDVO like so many mentioned above. I know few other july applicants who also got similar mail from NDVO. So, i guess its general massage for all July applicants.

Can you please share your full timeline with us.

Your background check is done in Canada or in NDVO ?
Looks like if we are in the Pilot program, background check happens in the Canada not in local visa office and file get transfer for DM or interview...does it make sense ?
