Hi everyone! I am wondering if my brother and I can separately sponsor my mom and dad or does it have it to be together since they are each other's dependents.

Also, can my brother and I both fill out the sponsorship interest form for our parents or is that considered a duplicate entry?
Plea
If both your and your brother meet LICO requirements, then either of you can sponsor your parents. You can't both submit an app. Neither can you co-sign for each other (only spouse can be co-signer).

You should both be able to submit interest forms, as long as both of you meet LICO on your own.

You can sponsor only one parent if you wish and list the other as non-accompanying - but must have enough income to cover both parents.

And to add to scylla's post, both parents must still pass the medical even if you are only sponsoring one.

I'm just starting to look in to this for my mum...

Currently a family of 3, (my husband, our 9 month old and myself). My mum has lived with her partner for a few years, so I guess with the application financial support aspect, we would have to have an income to cover family of 5, whether my mums partner came or not? They could both potentially apply?

Yes, you need an income for 5 people. Your mother's common-law partner would have to be included in the application.

Yes, your mom is legally common-law for immigration purposes. Her common-law must be included in the app (as accompanying or non-accompanying to Canada), must be included in family size, and must pass the medical exam.

In case he had some serious medical condition that would make him ineligible due to excessive demand, that would also cause your mom to be denied as well.

Great, that makes sense.

On the interest to sponsor web form, would I just include my mum as parent (then add common law partner, if they get invitation?) or also add her partner as a parent too?

And do I have to maintain income during the processing to include the non accompanying parent as well or is that just the past 3 year requirement ?

I would include both their names on the lottery form.
