Hi all,

here is the situation: I took the medical exam for a permanent resident application (as part of the required documents after receiving the invitation). due to incomplete documents, the application cancelled as incomplete and I had to re-apply. since my passport didn't have much time left on it, I renewed the passport and re-applied to express entry with the new passport. Now that I got invited again, do I have to retake the medical exam since my passport number has changed? or the old exam is still valid?

You can use it to apply again. How many months has passed since it was done? Pls see..

Medical Exam Validity / Expiry date

you have to have valid medicals to be able to enter canada...so they will not issue a visa unless your medicals are valid and you will be able to travel before they expire.

in other words, if you get your visa and your medicals expire in a week you will have to travel and land in canada before they expire

the report was issued on November 15, 2017. so it is quite recent. yet again, within the e-medical information sheet, the "presented document" field has my old passport number in it. So I thought that the medical is kind of issued to that passport number and now that I have a new passport, it may not be valid anymore...

The medical was done on you, despite the passport number changing. People renew passports all the time. You could upload a Letter of Explanation describing what happened and also include the bio page scan of your previous passport, inside the LoE. If you read the forum, you'll find that others have submitted IELTS with old passport number.

Thanks a lot! such a big help/relief. the doctor who examined me, was telling me otherwise (that the exam is to be retaken). I guess he wanted to charge me again ;)
