Citizenship application AOR

CIC recieved my application on OCTOBER 17TH. i had contact with MP. They called IRCC about my application cause still didn't get my AOR . This is letter today I got from MP.

IRCC told me they have now processed all complete Citizenship applications received before November 24, 2017. So if your application had arrived and was reviewed as “complete” it should be logged into their system.


Two options are:

i) Application was determined to be incomplete and returned to you. There is no way for us or IRCC staff we deal with to track this. In any case, you should have received the returned package by now.

ii) Canada post or an agent on the receiving end has lost it.

Please let me know what I should to do now?

I applied aswell on 23rd october two times i called them and got the same reply as you one month ago and samething yesterday.some october 15 applicant which they got same response as us and are still getting AOR.dont know its too confusing what to do next.what is going on.

It's unfortunate that your AOR is delayed, but only thing that can be done is wait. Sending another application won't help get AOR faster either. If your application has not been returned, it's safe to assume that you will get AOR eventually. Calling or emailing IRCC will be of no help, because they cannot track your application till you get AOR.

I mentioned this earlier several times, if you kept a copy of your application, please review it to make sure there are no reasons for it to be returned. If it's complete, AOR will come sooner or later.

IMO, there is absolutely no point in sending another application. It's a waste of your time and money, and could very well cause you further delays. Please see my response above to GG1. If you kept a copy of your mailed application (which I hope you did), I would recommend that you and maybe someone else review it to make sure you sent a complete package, and there are no application return worthy mistakes. If so, you will get AOR sooner or later.

However, should you choose to send another application, please read the following from IRCC about multiple applications in the pipe:

If it is incomplete application they shouldn't have in their system ? Cause it doesn't make sense to me

I talked to one of the cic agent this morning .she said if the application has not been returned back then the file should be with us .its just october had so many applicants and we are lacking back.they are working on the october files around your timeline you should be getting AOR soon .just be patience.i am being patience anyway .

@razerblade is right, I received AOR on Jan 8th. When talked to agents, I received different answers every time. But eventually got AOR.

I called cic 1 hour ago. They said if you you sent application and you didn't recieve AOR by now, I need you send complete new application. And I ask them I lost 4 month so far . He said . It doesn't matter time gone. Send new application

These customer service agents are just like any other call center agents... they want to get off the phone because they are overwhelmed by so many calls. What they say carry no weight.

Did you photocopy your application before sending it off ? I would recommend that you and someone you trust review it multiple times. If everything is complete, there is no reason for your application to be returned. Probably just waiting to be opened.

As much as I disagreed with October applicants resending a second app weeks ago, it's been 3 months now; most October applicants got their AOR, as well as 2/3 of November apps.

AORs are trickling in for the people left behind. How much longer should they wait? 2 months? By then they would have AOR for their 2nd app.

Maybe it's time to reconsider the advice not to resend.

I recommend sending them a web form giving details of what call cen agent advised on sending new app. Do request them to confirm if that was the case - loss of returned app - before you send a new app
