Work permit options for future PR

I received an ITA in the most recent round. I am waiting for FBI PCC which can take 3 months and so getting the PR looks about 9 months away. In the meanwhile if I apply for jobs in Canada, I have a visitor visa and live close to the border in the US, so I can attend interviews. If the employers ask if I can join anytime earlier than 9 months, what can I tell them? Are there any short-term/temporary work permit options while I wait for PR?

Unfortunately, you can't join them before the PR approval. You are not eligible for a work permit based on your PR application. Good Luck!

Your employer will need to get LMIA (search for it on the forum). Not many employers do that.

If you want to get a work permit, you will need an official job offer and your employer will need to obtain an approved LMIA. This is a very hard thing to do and it typically takes about 6 months just for the LMIA to be approved. To be approved for an LMIA, the employer needs to advertise the job for at least 30 days and prove that there are no qualified PRs/Canadians for this job. As you can expect, not many employers are willing to go this route. Good Luck!
