Hey, I drive uber for one month during my eligibility period. Should it consider myself self-employed? because in form I said "no" to self-employed. When I filled my tax that year I claimed that one-month income from uber

Please help me on this question.

Thank you,

As far as I know, to be considered as Self employed you need to get a business number from CRA. Did Uber asked you to take a business number from CRA? if yes then self employed if not then you might be an employee of Uber.

For self employed, you usually pay and file GST along with the taxes. Seniors might be able to clarify in a better way.

thanks! I only got my earing receipt from uber for each ride and I used those to claim the tax and I am not sure if I needed to mention this as a self-employed because I already sent an application and said no to self-employed. If I needed to write yes then I can withdraw an application and submit the new one.

Please anyone can help me with that?

Thank you

Did you mention "Uber" in your work history ? Technically, you were working for Uber, not for yourself. So, checking 'No' to self-employed is correct. Just my opinion.

No I didn't mention that because I only did a couple of rides and stopped working. maybe 20 rides in one month and stopped doing it.

Thanks

So what did you indicate in your history (q 11) during the period where you worked for Uber ? There should be no gaps in your history.

thecoolguysam, I agree with you! What should I do in this situation? Maybe send an updated form? or withdraw an application and send the new one with upto date information.

Thanks

You don't need to withdraw your application. You can use the webform and inform them if you'd like.

If you haven't received AOR yet, you should wait for that and then use the webform. You will need your citizenship file number.
