Hello,

My husband and I recently applied for my PR. I am from Costa Rica and we have been married since August 29th of 2015. We applied inland and we are living together and share expenses here in Canada. However, I am on a visitor visa. Do I need to leave the country every 6 months until I get a resolution? Is there any reason why they would deny my entry to the country?

Also, they received my application in Mississauga the 2nd of Jan. How long until I get my OWP? I know it can take up to 4 months, but is that the norm? Is there a possibility that I get it sooner, if so how soon?

Thank you!

You will have to apply for a trv extension every 6 months. Don't leave the country to do it. Mention that you have applied for spousal pr. You will likely be approved. Yes OWP usually take around 4 months.

Thank you for your response, is there any way that I can get the OWP any sooner? I heard of people getting it after 1 or two months?

Not very familiar with Quebec immigration. Not sure if you need CSQ? Nothing you can do to get you OWP processed faster. If you get it faster you got lucky.

No this is not correct.

The app you already submitted for OWP gives you implied status, so no need to extend visitor status.

And once you get OWP, that also gives valid status in Canada so again no need to extend visitor status.

Inland applicant should not be traveling in and out of Canada anyways, so should be no need to apply for TRV at any time during PR processing for travel purposes.
