Hi All,
Today I am here to share my experience of getting a second refusal for canadian visitor visa. I got my first refusal for same category visa in 2013 with two reasons. Travel history & status in country in residence. I was working on entry level job with holding work permit in new zealand. So i thought my application wasn’t strong.
then I waited four & half year to improve situation. Now I am holding a senior position in a five star hotel in new zealand and gained permanent resident status as well. provided my leave approval letter from job stating my position, salary etc etc. showed a very genuine bank statement with $8500 to for a two week trip in canada. showed them my multiple entry visa for Australia where I made short visit in last year. also a letter of explanation with day to day itinerary.
Today i got refusal saying travel history, personal assets & purpose of visit. Now i would like to clarify my points towards refusal reasons.
Travel History- I visited australia first & planned for canada now. what they wanted too see? a trip to half of the world to prove my travel history.
Purpose of visit.. oh cmon you know a general tourist can visit canada without any major reason to show for visit. i don’t have relatives etc there but why can’t go as tourist as I did for australia. it’s just ridiculous reason to refuse.
3. personal assests - now do i have to own a business necessarily or buy a half million dollar house in new zealand to prove my ties here. just to visit canada for 2 weeks? Well a person being a permanent resident of country like new zealand, why would he intend to work or overstay in canada when he has best opportunities to work here in NZ. or just for a moment imagine even if he stays or work in canada . why would he work on $12 per hour or less when he has job in NZ as manager getting over $20 per hour.. and If i had to overstay or work illegally then I would have stayed in Australia too where salary starts from $20 per hour. but that wasn’t my purpose. I wanted to see different countries. I am an asian. So of course I would choose other continents to explore. Europe was also an option but i choosed canada as europe is bit more far & need more time to see number of countries there. I had leave approval of 2 weeks & canada was more suitable option. I know people from many countries would like to move or work because of better opportunities or more money earning. But it doesn’t mean other countries like NZ, Australia are any less than Canada in terms of living standards or earnings. There are people like me who genuinely look at Canada as destination to visit as tourist & come back here.
Anyways I had enough of it. I don’t think a person would prefer to loose his lifestyle/job being a legal individual as permanent resident in NZ just because he can over stay in canada illegally for unexpected reasons. who does that?
I will be citizen on NZ in next few years & that time can expect canada to ask me for two or three citizenship to enter canada saying that they are not satisfied with one passport of New Zealand. I think they can do it as well. Because they can pick any reasons. anyways good luck to everyone with their application & thanks to Visa Officer for making an incredible decision for refusal. Claps.
