Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

My friend's parents re-did the medicals and status got updated again for the medicals being passed.

NDVO is the VO. She was asked to provide a whole bunch of documents in Feb 2017 which she submitted on time.

Any idea, what the next steps are for their file?

Review of eligibility We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical results You passed the medical exam.
Review of additional documents We do not need additional documents.
Interview You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.

Background check Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check.
Final decision Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

Today I checked MyCIC account and saw the Med status from Done to re-test if needed.

I have same status changed on December 21st and on 22nd, i received pre-arrival letter. After that no changes. What was your background check status before this change?

No Change in Status for Me: VO is : NDVO. Its been 14 Months Since medical.

We received XXX's application for permanent residence on January 4, 2016.
We started processing XXX's application on August 18, 2016.
We sent XXX a letter on August 25, 2016. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
We sent XXX correspondence on October 19, 2016. If XXX has not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please have XXX do so as soon as possible. Please wait until XXX
receives the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.
Medical results have been received.

Anyone who submitted the passport to OTTAWA,how long is it taking to get the passport back ? and what are the options for landing if parents are already in Canada.

Finally got passports back from Ottawa after 5 weeks.
Parents are already in Canada, so probably will book an appointment with IRCC office for landing.

Here is the document that I got back. Hopefully it will answer your questions. Also I haven't booked the appointment yet, not sure about the time. It should vary by place to place.

I am on the same page; got the pre-arrival letter on Jan-5, 2018; what is the next step? Will they ask us to redo the medical [medical will expire on Jan 30th, 2018] or request for passport?

I just moved from Ottawa to Brampton [Ontario]; wondering if I should the update the address with IRCC at this point; will address change delay the process?

Or just wait for last couple of steps to be over and not to make the address change? It has been 2 years and don't want to cause an unnecessary delay at this stage.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Keep me updated if you get an appointment.My parents passport were recieved yesterday with Ottawa but as their medical will be expiring on 12th March so they have to land before that date
