Applied July 26th 2017, got PPR on December 6th, same day I had my interview. The interview delayed my process by two months at least, because I was in queue for interview since October 4th. My VO is Bogota, Colombia. I just need to complete my medical exam now (was requested on January 2nd this year), and that's it. Everything else is done already, including background check. I should be getting my COPR by the end of this month.

The immigration officer that interviewed me told me what was going to go next, which is basically the guideline from their manual. She said that after the interview, they were going to do my background check (I had to provide a background verification check certificate that a private company provides in my country, which only they can do, and they forward it directly to the embassy), and if passed the background check, they would request a medical exam right after. I have been requested my medical exam, so that clearly means that my background check is completed and also passed. In the manual they use for guidance, they have a set procedure for after an interview has been concluded. If passed, they proceed to do the background check. If background is good, then they do the medical exam. If the medical exam is good, then they must issue the COPR.

Is in fact good thing this private company for BGC if they allow this option everywhere .
So as you say remedial or extending it mean background is done. Hope you get COPR and PPR this week.
Me they extended my medical on November after week of my eligibility pass still waiting for PPR
