Greetings all. I'm a newbie here, and no doubt the least knowledgeable...

I am a Canadian citizen and wife is Indian and we have daughter of 5 years. Want her to get to Canada before school starts in Sept. Wife and daughter have not left India to date. I am stubborn and will not leave family and return for employment and begin the inland sponsorship as it is just too long ( I know it's a sacrifice) , so we are ready now to do it from here. I have come back over the years for some work at family business but wife has been a stay at home mother here. Business is now sold two years back.

Can anyone inform me of what issues we may face?

I can get a letter of employment from friend's business and we have no problem with accommodation and family assistance for finances, until we get rolling in my beloved country.

I'm also wondering if there would be any problem with getting the application in and after about 3-4 months then I alone could return and get set up with employment and place - just to ease the lengthy period of separation on the little one. Then come back and get daughter shortly before school year begins, then wife would, hopefully, if everything goes as it should, come a few months later.

Any thoughts? I'm sure I'm missing something. Can't be that easy?

Assume your daughter is already a Canadian citizen?
Has your wife already been approved for a TRV to visit?

One easy solution is to have everyone come to Canada (your wife as a visitor), and once here simply apply for her PR + OWP with in INLAND application. Then all of you can live in Canada together while it's processing.

Hi Rob. Thank you so much for your reply. Yes Daughter does have Citizenship Certificate and passport.

We/wife did apply for a Visitor's visa last month but was denied. I must admit we made it a little too easy for them to discern that out 'intention' was to stay.....

I wonder if we should try again and change a few things? They want to see that she has 'reason' to return but she doesn't really have family or work to come back to...

I'm also wondering if anyone knows how long notarized documents are valid for? I've had all our necessary docs notarized about 2 years ago by a immigration service in Canada. At the time we didn't end up submitting our Sponsorship due to family matters but had everything ready, mostly. Is there a statue of limitations on notarization?

With an already rejected TRV, and a spouse/kid who are both Canadian, getting an approved TRV now may be practically impossible. Especially if she doesn't have a job currently. Ties to Canada are too great. However you can certainly try.

Assuming she will not get a TRV, you should apply for her PR OUTLAND. She will only be able to come to Canada after the app is approved and she has her COPR/PR visa. I would budget around 1 year total processing time.

I don't think there is an expiry date for notarization. As long as the original docs are still valid, you should be ok.

Sorry if I interrupt this thread I am new to this site I have question and I needed an advice I am Filipina married to a Canadian I had 2kids from my ex boyfriend and never heard from him after I delivered my 2nd Kid with him our my first child has his last name and the 2nd I did not even put the fathers name on his birth cert. coz when I got preg with my 2nd child that’s the time I found out that he is married and he is been leaving in Paris with his wife???? My heart shattered . I thought he is working in Paris and come here to the Philippines every two years to visit me... so I decided to call it quits.
Do I need him to sign the 5604? I raised the kids alone working travel here there and everywhere to provide the needs of my wonderful kids. Please enlighten me. Thanks in advance

You either need his signed permission or full legal custody to bring your daughter to Canada. Already answered here:

Rob_TO, when entering Canada like this, do you have suggestions as to what to disclose to the immigration officials / what to say to them?

Confirmation of PR. It's the document you get along with PR visa in passport, when PR app is approved

Sorry to interrupt this thread, but I have a ques reg spousal sponsorship.

I am from India and my husband has got his PR and is in Canada. He will be starting the spousal sponsorship process soon. From the document checklist, I got to know that it's mandatory to provide Birth Certificate. H/ever, the place of birth in my Birth Certificate shows the Village name, along with District and State in separate line. But the place of birth in my passport shows ONLY the name of the District and State.
Will this cause any problem? Would it be sufficient if I add an LOE just to explain it to CIC folks.

Pls let me know how to go about it.
