Regarding sponsoring my wife and kid

Hi All,

Need a help about sponsoring my wife and kid from India ... Kindly advice me on my query.

I am working in Canada for past 1+ year as PR one of the reputed IT company and I submitted PR application for my wife and kid on May 2017 and got medicals submission request on June 29th and we submitted the medicals in July. After that, we are waiting ... How much time it will take to get the passport request ...?

If anyone has idea on this please let me know or any in the similar phase?

Should take approximately 12 months. Did you apply for PR with your wife as non-accompanying? Was your child born when you applied for sponsorship because if you added your child at a later date that could also create a bit of a delay.

My kid is 5 year old, my wife and kid are in India. I came here and then I applied for the visa this May 2016.

Were they part of your original PR application as non-accompanying?

This is a new application for both of them and my wife asked to submitt the medcals in June and we did in july and for kids medicals are not required. After medicals this is 5 th month and we didn't heard anything from Delhi immigration office.

Did you mention that you were married and had a child when you applied for PR for yourself? Both your wife and child should have done a medical at that point as well. Medicals are required for children. I am a bit confused about your PR application.

Typical sponsorships from India take 12 months. You can always order the GCMS notes if you want to see the status of the application.

If your child is 5 did you meet you RO? If you are applying to sponsor and you haven't met you RO your PR could be revoked.

You are not answering the question. When you applied for PR yourself, did you include in your application your wife and your kid as non-accompanying family members? This is very serious.

When I applied for VISA , I mentioned about my wife and I got kid after I got PR. Then now I applied for both.

Okay then. Now, do you meet the RO? (Residency Obligations). Have you lived physically in Canada for two years in a five year period?

Unfortunately as I mentioned before by sponsoring your wife and child before you met your RO and since you landed over 5 years ago your pointing out that you didn't meet the RO. Your sponsorship process will be put on hold and your PR will be revoked. You can then appeal and see what happens.
