My Father In Law went to NADRA, to find out how my wife can change her last name to my name and he was told by NADRA, that they need my THUMB on the FORM(s) and my signature? means I am in Canada so that is no more possible? as I have to be physically there to do that.
I visited her 4 weeks in Sept 2017, we should have done this at that time.

For all who are going to make their new CNIC. Please dont go to their office as they will require aloooottt of things and finger prints and all. You will not be here to provide it so here what you have to do ;
Return to Canada, apply for NICOP online and update it. (Change in Marital status)
Now after few days ask your wife to apply for CNIC online. Update her marital status (changing name is not necessary), Pay online and here you go. Everything will be settled.

As seniors are telling you to have alot of pictures and proof that will help you in future. Inshallah.

When did i say it only changes marital status?
Matlab ke name change krna to necessary nahi hai na. Wo to apki marzi hai but online agar apply krein to modify ( marital status+changing name+ anything you want) ho sakta hai you dont have to be present here.

Don't remember as my husband was also in Pak to update his nicop when i went to update my cnic. For now you should leave it as is.

I used a big binder clip on my paper application to join all the forms. Its ok.

Ask this on the student visa section of the forum. Im not entirely sure but i think chances of refusal are higher. Logic is same as that of TRV: The criteria for being awarded a student permit include convincing the immigration officer that the applicant intends to leave Canada once his/her studies are complete, which would be difficult considering they have a PR application in progress.

Should we share the photographs with LVO voluntarily or wait for them to ask for any additional pictures,

Once your application is transferred to LVO, they check eligibility (genuineness of relationship), and do background checks (security and criminality of PA). It usually takes them a few months just to open your file, and BGC can take an undetermined amount of time, so that's why it can take 11-12 months. But some lucky 2017 applicants have gotten their visas in 3-5 months, so you never know. The BGC is done by third parties so it's not in their control. And no lol, they definitely don't send someone to check you out.

It's clearly mentioned on their website that the applicants must not send any additional documents unless they are asked for it.
