hi legalfalcon/ forum members

My wife is a primary applicant and only us along with our 1 month old daughter are applying for pr. Just got an ITA in the last draw on 20/12/17

my wife's educational qualifications and birth certificate have her father's name spelt with a 'double L' whereas in her current and old passports it is spelt with a 'single L'.
I have been advised to make a new passport with the change in spelling

We have our inhibitions of making a new passport due to the lead time in application and receiving it back. also we are in the process of applying for my daughters passport
We will only be able to do both applications after 2 weeks since she is in her hometown at the moment

We have also been advised to make a Notarised Affidavit stating that both persons are the same
Will the Notarised Affidavit suffice in this case and not jeopardize our application

The Notarized Affidavit is my first preference as it keeps things simple for us in our situation
But can i simply rely on the Affidavit to do the trick
If it is utmost necessary to make a new passport instead then they will have to immediately return and do the needful

Please guide
Thanks a lot

Since the passport is the identity document, the name as it appears on it will be used for all official purposes. If any other document has a different name, then you can file an affidavit affirming that the name as on the documents and that on the passport pertains to the same person and that will work.

However, if IRCC is not clear, they can ask for additional documents.

Thanks @legalfalcon
That was the same guidelines for PCC we referred to.
Will these guidelines (validity) for PCC override the 3 month or 6 month validity mentioned on the actual PCC?

Please advice

If your PCC has a validity, then you will have to make sure that the PCC is valid on the day when the application is submitted. If you cannot do that, then in the LoE mention that you are unable to get a new PCC and thus filing the application and if need be you are willing to get a new one if required by IRCC.

Yes I have the authorization from Ministry of Labour in UAE as ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER not ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (NOC 1241). And note that in the Labour Ministry list of job title Administrative Assistant is not available.

Thank you in advance for your expert help.

You can explain this in LoE, and also attach the authorization letter. Not a big deal.

Does anyone know about the RCMP certificate? My fiance just submitted his application and we feel he may be asked for the RCMP certificate. So we want to know if we apply for this document now, so that we have it ready when the CIC asks for it.
Please share your thoughts
Thanks

RCMP certificate will be required if requested by IRCC. However, if you have lived in Canada for over 6 months, then you should get the RCMP PCC now and submit it via CSE, will help save some time.

hello sir

in the student visa online application. where to submit my ( family ties, CV, previous university papers, my work contract after finishing my master ... etc)? the thing is I can't find a category in the online application that fits those papers . all the fields for CIC papers and proof of fund and etc

Do you have space for LoE, you can submit it there, or you can send them later via CSE.

Changes to submitted eAPR ???

Hi All,
I want to chenge the Work History section after submitting eAPR ? I included work experience for which I am not claiming points. I do not want CIC to come back further documentation which I will not be able to provide. Can I raise cse for the same ? Will CIC entertain my request ?

Anyone faced similar problem ?

Thanks a lot in advance...!!!!

If you mentioned anything in the work history you are required to submit employment reference letters for it even if you are not claiming points. You can definitely raise a CSE and explain it to IRCC, but it is their discretion.

Also make sure that the changes do not affect your CRS and MEC.

Hi, legalfalcon! Thanks for being present in this era! I am curious of what happens if I leave my LMIA supported job a few weeks after the eAPR of my CEC EE. Let’s say my ITA was possible because of LMIA’s extra 50points. Ive heard that my account should be lovked up after AOR. But loosing a LMIA right after AOR job sounds like a risk move to me. Will my points be taken away and my application withdrawn?

Now, if I follow up with the updated employment information and if they actually look into it while they are processing and doing the check ups, will it cause any problem? I am confused because so many people say that my points will be taken away and application rejected, if the ITA could happen because of extra points received from positive LIMA. Thanks ! @legalfalcon

Once an application is filed it is locked and if any charge happens in your circumstances, including your change of job, you have to inform IRCC.

Hello Legalfalcon,

I submitted a PR application for my spouse and me in March 2017 after getting an Invitiation to apply through Express Entry.

In May 2017 I was asked to submitted additional documents and I did so promptly. However I have not heard anything back from CIC since then. I recently ordered my GCMS notes. In It, the most recent notes have the following information:

Note:1

Created Date: 2017/10/16
Updated Date: 2017/10/16
Office: CPC-Ottawa
Text: PReVU (RFV Quick Check)

Note:2
Created Date: 2017/10/13
Updated Date: 2017/10/13
Office: CPC-Ottawa
Text: CPC-O RFV Letter sent via email in a batch. No correspondence was generated as letter was sent in a batch via MS Word Letter Template
.

Also, in another part of the GCMS notes under Assessments, the following information is present:

Assessments
Eligibility: Passed
Security: <Blank>
HIRV: <Blank>
Criminality: Passed
Org Crime: <Blank>
Medical: Passed
Misrepresentation: <Blank>
Info sharing: Complete
Other Reqs: <Blank>
Final: Approved

I re-read the notes and could not find any negative or adverse comments.

We would be very grateful if you could help us answer the following questions:
  • Do the notes indicates our PR application has been approved?
  • If yes, when can we expect to get the COPR letter, given that it was likely approved in Oct 2017?
  • Per my understanding our medicals are valid for 12 months. This ends in Feb 2018. If we don't get the COPR in time will we be asked to give our medicals again?
Please do let us know if you need any other information from the GCMS notes.

Thank you in advance.
Ram.

Since the Final says "Approved," your application has been approved. Congratulations!
After the application is approved, it can take 2-3 weeks before you receive the PPR. This is because the PPR email is sent in batches.
As regards the medicals, they are valid for 1 year from the date when they were generated. If you do not land before that, your medicals will be extended or you will be asked to re-do them, which is the discretion of IRCC

Hello Legalfalcon,

Thank you ! Could you give me the contact number of CIC or where I could find it?
+1 613 944 4000 (for an agent: options 1,2,1,2,1 ... then 0 to skip the message)

My CIC account still showing that my background verification is in progress and I did not get any PPR email. Even in the GCMS notes the status of my application is showing as In Progress.

Your MyCIC account will stay the way it is, only after you send your passport and a CoPR is generated, will the status change to Approved in MyCIC

Thank you @legalfalcon My only concern is that I've asked Dubai Police as well as the UAE Embassy in my country and they've both said that PCC cannot be issued on visit visas. I have stayed in Dubai only on visit visas and my combined stay is around 7 months over a period of 3 years. I have explained this in the LOE. So I'm hoping that the IRCC won't ask me for a PCC because I am unable to get one for Dubai. Please advise.

If you have explained it in LoE, no need to worry. I have worked with applicants with the same issue, and they were not asked for Dubai PCC.

If you still have questions, ask.

RCMP certificate will be required if requested by IRCC. However, if you have lived in Canada for over 6 months, then you should get the RCMP PCC now and submit it via CSE, will help save some time.
So we don't need to wait for the letter from CIC and we can apply for it even without that?

You can explain this in LoE, and also attach the authorization letter. Not a big deal.
