Do Indian customs open transcripts?

Hi, Since I live in US, my father collected my undergrads transcripts for me, I am thinking of asking my father to send to me so that I can send to WES or IQAS, but since Indian customs have the tendency (as we all know it is full of overzealous, greedy and dumb employees) to tear apart each and everything like a bunch of idiots living in 18th century (without scanning technology etc.), I am not sure that they will not tear open the sealed envelope. They have done so to many of my things many times. People who sent transcripts on their own , did you face issue of sealed envelope broken open by the useless Indian customs people?

They didn't do for my brother. We send original transcripts and degree in sealed envelope for this PhD Application

I keep sending documents overseas in a FedEx or DHL document envelope and its never been opened at customs.... I sent to WES also and it reached them fine

I don't think customs is interested in documents. They are usually interested in large parcels.

Thanks, but from my experience they do open documents as well (they did tear up my document packets ???, I hope they dont do that to my transcripts.

Lot of people are from india in canada and everyone had their transcripts posted from india directly to WES or to their residential address in canada without any problem. so stop blaming customs..

I think customs people look at the addresses. By now they know what wes is or if they see some educational institutions, they would guess nothing contraband is in that envelope

This can happen anywhere not necessarily in India.Someone I know had his transcripts opened and re-sealed. Try to get more than one envelope and mention in shipping documents or may be in the envelope that these are transcripts.

They will not open your transcripts.....don't woory...i m 100%sure....i brought mine

My WES envelope was handed to me by the University which is sealed and stamped. When i took to the post office, they asked me to write my name and address next to the University's name. Which I did? Hope it's not going to be an issue?
