Sent my application in from within Canada, because they still have it at customs (1,5 months now)... We are now on a holiday in Canada..
They send it on the 18th and they received it on the 19th.

Same date received for me too ! Outland and BVC in Paris for my Algerian husband . Good luck . I actually spoke to CIC to confirm they received my application and the lady said they are working on applicatiosn received on October 28th. So at least another month before we hear anything ..

Its taking about 6-8 weeks to get acknowledgement of receipt. They wont have your application in the system. You can use your mail service tracker that you used when sending the app to see if it reached ircc. Calling and waiting 40+ minutes to be told theyre working on applications from october wouldnt be good use of your time. Take into consideration the holidays this week too (monday and tueaday and then the following monday) so that will push it back a little bit more. No need to fret at this point. If you hear nothing at the 8 week mark i would call bit for now its pretty much useless

It's the 1800 number online, sorry I don't know it by heart but just look up CIC contact number. They will put you on hold for a while but they are able to check if they scanned in your application to make sure they have received it. They can't tell you if anything is missing or if it's complete as they haven't processed it yet but they can at least tell you they have it !

What did you ask them and what did they ask you to confirm?

I just told the lady I sent in the application through Canada Post and they were no longer able to track it so I wanted to make sure it was actually received. She asked me for my name, DOB and then found the file. To confirm she also asked my husband's name and DOB. She gave me a temporary UCI number in case I wanted to follow up and said hopefully by end of January beginning of Febuary I will get the AOR
