Hello Friends,

My father is in US with me on visitor visa for a month now and we are planning to visit Vancouver in Feb. I already have tourist visa for Canada, I have below queries:

1. In TRV application, is country of residence for my father would be USA or India (My father is citizen of India) ?
2. I am planning to book flight and hotels (refundable) for Feb and add the itenary as part of my application, do I need to add any other document?
3. As part of ties with home country, I am planning to add all the Fixed Deposits my father has and as my father is retired from government job, I am planning to add his pension document and bank proof to show his monthly pension.
4. Is there any other document I need to arrange for successful TRV?

Thank you in advance for your guidance!

Thanks

USA

A detailed day-by-day plan with expense estimates and include evidence that he can afford the visit. If some components will be paid/are booked by yourself then do include your bank statements as well.

3. As part of ties with home country, I am planning to add all the Fixed Deposits
These are NOT a solid tie/reason to return to India because FDs are automatically renewed on maturity if no instructions are given. Your dad is not required.

Any other ties? Property or land? Dependent family members? Any other financial investments? A travel history explanation?

Do include:
1. His confirmed return tickets from the US to India (after his Canada visit)
2. Any reason to confirm he must return to the US by a specific date (if possible)

Thank you @Bryanna for your response!

Sure, I will add day by day plan with detailed expense estimates. But in case all the expenses are made by me, will my bank statements mentioning my responsibility of all the travel and lodging expenses in LOE work?

No property on his name, our properties are on my mother's name. It's his first trip outside India (first time came to US), so not much travel history either. Will it be worth trying still with pension details?
Do include:
1. His confirmed return tickets from the US to India (after his Canada visit)
Yes, sure I will add the return tickets
2. Any reason to confirm he must return to the US by a specific date (if possible)
Reason: He must return to US to stay with us for two more weeks and as his return ticket have already booked from US on date X, he need to travel back and attend one of his friend's son marriage in April in India - (will attach Marriage invitation card as well).
Kindly provide your comments.

Another questions: Would it be good idea to apply for my wife's visitor visa as well along with My father's and make it a family trip where I (who already have visa), my father and my wife are going for tourism to Canada
or
should I keep both the applications separate?

Thanks you!

Pension renewal is once a year. If the pension must be renewed immediately after his return to India then it would help as a reason. Otherwise, no.

You can, however, include his pension statement/details as part of his financial situation.

It would depend on your wife's immigration status in the US + her ties to both the US and India. You'll need to post more information on her personal/professional situations

Yes, as he is here in US since Nov and pension renewal is usually in Nov/Dec, he has to immediately go for renewal upon his return to India.

My wife is on H4 dependent visa (for last 3 years) in US not doing any work. She has to come back to US by Feb end as she has an IELTS exam scheduled, for that I can show the appointment confirmation. In India she has her parents, no other tie I can think of. She has valid I797 to stay in US that I can attach and we do not have any plan to visit India anytime soon.
Thanks

Hi @Bryanna, Could you please comment on my above queries. Thank you!

I suggest you apply first for your dad by including evidence that he must return to the US first and onward to India later. After he is issued a TRV, you can apply for your wife

You must include, among the other suggested documents:
1. Your dad's plane tickets to India

2. Leave approval letter from your employer for the same visit dates (if you're employed) + your birth certificate (to prove your relationship with your dad) + immigration status in the US of yourself and your wife + your bank statements + your marriage certificate + US rent agreement, etc
