I was going through some old posts from the "Spousal Sponsorship Interview Questionnaires, Experience, Preparations" thread and one applicant who got an interview had this line in his eCAS:

We sent you a letter on February 19, 2016. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. (INTERVIEW LETTER)

He indicated at the end that it was for his interview letter. This is pretty much the exactly the content of your line #8. So it may very well be that this letter is a request for your husband to attend an interview.

thanks again for your post this gave me a big break as i was freaking out. i got word yesterday from lawyer and the letter is an interview request. is for next year January 24.

Interview is not ideal but i am happy the application is moving and they contacted us before the year mark.
I have no idea how thing are gonna be at interview. My husband and i have a baby we do have lots of red flags and sent lots of evidence and they still want to interview us. I will be going to the interview and i will fight if i have to as i want my husband with me in Canada, even if we are rejected we will make our lives together we just want to give a shout to Canada first. we'll see what happens. Husband is nervous but patient and he also says he will embrace what ever it comes because the last thing he wants to do is ruin our daughter life with our concerns.

Someone please help!!! I’m sending my app on Wednesday but someone made me worry.
For Mexicans, the birth certificate we have to send is the one we get at the registro civil right? We don’t have to certify it or anything since it’s already certified?

I don't think you need to certify the Mexican birth certificate, but as it is in spanish it needs to be translated to english or french and the translations must be certified.

We also had major red flags and was interviewed last October in DR and passed

NP! I saw the other OP's post and I thought I would just let you know if it might help calm some of your fears. You now have a date, so hopefully you will know what happens on the 24th as it seems many applicants from this VO were told whether they were approved or not.

We haven't heard anything and as such, probably won't hear anything until the new year. We should get our GCMS notes the second week of January. If we haven't heard anything by January 25, I plan to make as big of a stink as I can and email the VO, call IRCC and contact my MP all at the same time and give them a piece of my mind. There is no way it should take longer than 1 year to process our app, even if we need an interview. Maybe that will put a black mark on our app, but I really want them to know that we are not happy and if it helps out other people to not go through this long dragged out process (including taking 7 weeks for them to open our app in Mexico, them making a mistake in not sending out an email for our RCMP report and taking 10 months now to do our criminal background check which was started in February), then it's worth it.

Usually by 12-13 mths if they have not given you a date for an interview, that means they wont interview u from what i seen, others who were due for an interview that applied in dec 2016, got approved 3-4 weeks ago

I sure hope you are right about no interview. However, I am not going to rest easy until I see a request for PPR. We will see what January brings! Have a great trip to the DR and when you return, you will have your hubby with you!!!

If you want to save some $$, try leaving from Punta cana or La Romana.

There is a bus that goes straight from Santo Domingo to punta cana. Leaves about every 2 hours starting at 7am last one its at 4-5pm I believe.
It's called Babaro express and it has 2 stops in Santo Domingo (Even though it's better to take it from where it leaves since sometimes it's full by the time it reaches the second stop).
Takes about 2-3 hours to reach Punta Cana and it cost only $11.
The best part is that it drops you right at the punta cana airport!

There are daily non stop flights in the $C250-350 range from Punta Cana to Toronto.

The airlines offering these prices are: Air transat, wesjet and aircanada. Mostly Air transat and westjet this month though.

This bus is looking pretty darn good right now, considering the fact that some flights from Santo Domingo can cost as much as $800!!

My husband came dec 18th left from Punta Cana because it was so much cheaper. $280 connecting Montreal to Halifax, and we booked 2 weeks in advance

I had it for much cheaper than that connecting to toronto-moncton
I am not from NS and i dont want montreal either, hate that airport. Toronto also u can get the SIN at the airport too
As long as u arrive mon-friday during their hours.
I believe our connection punta cana Toronto Moncton, was 257....... with west jet (255 going moncton to punta cana too)
Im coming back with him, we wanted to fly together and have that experience with him flying for the first time and leaving together finally!
