AOR Received.
01-19-2018
Hi! I am so sorry if this was already asked. I searched it and didn't see anything. I sent my application in with tracking in November. The post office said that it arrived November 24th. I have been checking to see if I can find the application to link it to my account online and I still can't find it. Is this normal or is there any way I can verify it was received?

Thank you!

Hi there,

Your tracking number is the only way you can verify it was received. As long as that says delivered, you can feel confident that it was received at the office. They will open your application and go through to make sure everything is correct, included, signed, etc. If there is anything missing or any mistakes, they will send it back. If everything is good and they're not sending it back, they will enter your information into the system and send you an email inviting you to link your account. That email is known as "AOR" (acknowledgement of receipt) and you will not be able to link your account until you receive that email. Currently, it's taking about 7 weeks to receive AOR for outland applications and 8 weeks for inland applications. Hope that helps!

I think my worry is about the tracking. The tracking doesn't show it was received, but I spoke to the post office and they said it had been delivered to the building and because it's in a large mailroom sometimes it doesn't get a final scan. I hope they're right!

Oh okay I see what you're saying. Yes, unfortunately all you can do is wait. What you're experiencing is very common - lots of Canada Post deliveries to the IRCC office do always stay "out for delivery", mine actually did that too!

THANK YOU for letting me know! I feel a lot less worried now :)
