I applied a study permit application on 4th of Dec (Columbia Bible College for Worship arts 2 year diploma). I got a refusal on 18th of December and the objection was only the purpose of visit nothing else. The VO stated

"Upon a complete review of the application, previous academic and employment history and the reasonableness of undertaking the proposed studies in Canada, I am not satisfied you are a bona fide student and would depart Canada at end of authorized stay"

I need urgent help as I need to sort out my next steps asap.
Thank you

You would be better off to apply for CAIPS notes and get details of the refusal. You can, of course, appeal, but that will likely be a lengthy and expensive process with no guarantee of success. Appeal rates run about 10-15% success rate.

It says that it takes around 5 weeks for them to get the documents which means if I apply for CAIPS notes, I'd run out of the option to file an appeal in that time frame. How long does it usually take for the appeal process though?

Maybe if you shared your profile then forum members might be able to give some clues on the refusal especially as seems like a very specific topic you plan to study. Note also that Columbia Bible College is a private college so unlikely any chance of getting a PGWP.

i wouldn’t anticipate an appeal date for at least 6-12 months and the actual hearing date being after that some time. And without knowing the actual reasons for refusal, what do you plan on appealing? It would likely be, IMO, more effective to apply for the CAIPS notes, address the refusal reasons and re-apply.

I've been an active choir member of my church since my childhood and I now lead the church choir. My dad runs his church and I've been into all the church activities since I was little. I'm 21 years old and from Lahore, Pakistan. I did my matriculation in 2012 and went to a college in Lahore for intermediate but dropped out my subjects in 2014 as I couldn't pass through maths. I took different subjects and completed my intermediate in September 2016 which I have the degree for. After that in November 2016 I was under financial crisis and had to find myself a job to support myself and my family. I've been employed with the same company uptil now and currently work here (DID ATTACH MY EMPLOYEE LETTER WITH MY STUDY PERMIT APPLICATION) That's about it. @Bs65

Also I didn't get any document back from the embassy so if I reapply, I'd have to make and collect all my documents again? and is the procedure of re-applying the same as normal study permit application?

Yes, you wont get any docs back. Thats how it works in study permit. Instead of applying try to focus on the rejections reasons and analyse what was missed. Apply with proper docs and strong SOP next time.
