Hey ROH friends! I have often been absent lately, but now I am happy to announce that I received my Ontario nomination Tuesday afternoon!

Timeline:

July 10: submitted EE profile
July 11: received NOI
July 25: Missed OINP registration by 1 day! :(
July 25-November 2: anxiously waited for OINP to reopen. Hit OINP updates page at least 10 times a day.
November 2: OINP reopened, registered
November 3: submitted application
November 27: Assessment
November 30: DIP
December 19: Nominated

It's nice to await a draw that will actually give me ITA for a change. Thank you all for the support during this stressful time. I'll still be hanging around and happy to help/chat when I'm not too busy/overwhelmed.
The world is now your oyster buddy!

Hi!!! Oh so Your a doctor! That’s great to know. If you don’t mind may I ask your CRS? I have a doubt. For Doctor, you have chosen “Masters degree or Professional” option right? Or is it apt to choose “Bachelors 2-3 years or more”? What have you choosen? I have this doubt since a long time but I dint find a doctor to ask.
For the doctors if your equivalency comes "Doctor of Medicine" then you claim points of masters degree. It's very clear

Hi...I have a query, it would be very helpful if someone can clarify it:
My work experience is from September 2014 till June 2016 which is in actual, 1 complete year from september 1, 2014 till august 31, 2015 and another is 10 months, from september 1, 2015 till june 2016, but, number of hours, I have worked are 2430 hours which are lot more than full time working hours required by Canada, i.e. 1560 hours (it's 9 hours for 6 working days, i.e. 54 hours per week and there were 45 weeks in these 10 months and it makes up 2430 hours) I wanted to know that can I claim 1 year experience by adjusting the number of hours while applying for Express Entry.
Can I count it 2 years experience or it will be counted as 1 year experience only?
Even if you have exceeded the hours required per year for work experience, IRCC agent calculate work experience through the months and years you work. I know this by what was in my GCMS notes.

Yes, you were right! Even though the 2017 quota was filled on November 22! Canada immigration never ceases to surprise us. :p

Long time no hear (maybe more that I have been out of it for a while)! How is your application going? Did you get PR yet?
They realised that post July PNP-AOR will land in 2018 only. :D And Maybe they considered last few applications in processing stage to be counted in 2017 Quotas. ( They need those 1500CAD :D:D:D)

Well my file moved to IP2 stage on 1st December so now I am just waiting for last golden mail. :)

Yes you have to choose Master's degree or Professional degree needed to practice in a licensed profession after getting your Eca from MCC. In the evaluation it mentions your degree equivalency. Mine said Doctor of Medicine. Here is what the cic site says

Professional degree needed to practice in a licensed profession
(also known as First professional degree or Entry-to-practice professional degree)

For Express Entry, we only accept professional degrees in these fields:

  • medicine,
  • veterinary medicine,
  • dentistry,
  • podiatry,
  • optometry,
  • law,
  • chiropractic medicine, or
  • pharmacy.
ECA assessment results:

Medicine
  • First professional degree in medicine (Doctor of Medicine)
  • First professional degree in Medicine
  • Doctor of Medicine degree
  • First professional university degree in medicine
  • First professional university degree in medicine, preceded by prerequisite undergraduate study

Hope this helps. Happy to see another doctor here. My CRS is 456. :)
If you need any help regarding getting your eca you can message me anytime. We could connect and discuss about things to do after going to Canada if you want. All the best to you. :)

Hey. What happened?? Refusal is very rare with OINP.
It was not PNP, it was through Express Entry FSW programme. Because of my stupid consultant, I got the refusal. I will have to start the whole process from the scratch.

Ho! Ho! Ho! Christmas is already here for you friend! very happy to know this. I am sure you will be PR in no time!:):):)
Though we don't know each other but reading your posts and knowing your struggle for immigration I was kind of connected to you and other candidates with similar situations and was praying that you guys make it. If everything goes well I will join you next year hopefully. Best wishes for your post ITA-phase [you gonna make it tonight ;)].

Oh. That’s Sad. Now you can apply alone without any consultant as we’re here to help for any confusion. Don’t worry. May you get the fastest PR in 2018. Best wishes. :)

Wow! That’s late t for the elaborate and informative post. I have done my ECA already. My CRS is 447. But I was tensed thinking that if I was wrong in choosing professional degree, my CRS would drop at a later point. So that’s why wanted to clarify. Now I’m clear. :)

Yeah I would be happy to connect with you. Let’s hope we make it in today’s draw.
