hi. Did a silly mistake. October applicant. I typed my name on place to sign it and dated it when I applied in October 2017. Cic gave file number and aor and returned just application with a request to sign where I put my name. Do I just sign without changing date original date which is October 2017. Or cross our date and sign it. They already put stamp on my application for the receipt in October. Pls help.

Just sign it and send it back. Do not change date. It could complicate things.

My concern is in the letter attached to the return application they said “we are returning your application because you have not signed and/or dates it. Please update all information on the form including addresses, absences from Canada and prohibition declaration. The application must then be signed and dated using the current date”.
I called Cic agent they advised to cross our the previous date and put the current date as I don’t have to change any information so not a need of new form. This form already has stamp. But my concern is crossing out date could complicate?

That changes the thing. If they specifically said to use current then go with it. No need to think twice about that thing. Also, just confirming they returned only one form that was not signed and not the whole application, right ??

Not for nothing, I find it annoying when people leave off critical information and then use it as argument to the advice or suggestions given by others in the forum.

I'm honestly not sure why you would even ask the forum this question when the letter EXPLICITLY asks you to use a current date.

Yes only returned one form, and kept all other items with them.
