Missing info in application form!

Hi guys,

I made a mistake when I filled out my application form. The mistake is I forgot to add my husband's last name that I got after marriage. When I submitted a copy of biographical page of my passport, where I have two last names written on it,I did't realize it. I feel stupid that how I missed this!. I just put my names at birth, which are written on my PR card and driver license etc.

What kind of consequences I might expect to happen? You guys think that my application forms will be returned to me?

It's not received by CIC yet.

Hi, are you saying you didn't mention your post-marriage name at all in the application ? If so, I would suggest that you use the webform and let IRCC know of the mistake.

Yes I missed mentioning my last name after marriage. I will certainly use the webform once my mail is delivered to IRCC.. And I hope that it will be worked out.

wait for AOR, chances of them might return is 80% as first & last name and former legal name before marriage are critical and they are not allowed to write on app for u even if u send Webform, but if and officer with good mood opens your app he might correct but thats rare miracle.

I see what you mean. but I wrote my legal names at birth, it's OK. I just forgot to mention my husband's last name that is written only in my passport.
My names are all correct only a last name I used additionally will be missing there, when officer take a look at my passport page.

I hope they won't send everything back for that reason.

Please wait till you revive AOR before using the webform. You will need your citizenship file number which comes
with the AOR email, that's how IRCC will be able to track and update your file with the missing information. Good luck

Her application won't be returned for this error. AOR generation is sort of a mindless check. They do not verify whether you filled the forms correctly, only that you answered all questions (be it incorrectly), signatures and dates present, all requested supporting documents are attached. Information verification is done once application starts processing at the local case processing center.

Now knowing this is so relieving! Meaning that I could get a chance to let my officer know what I have missed to say by using the webform or maybe giving them a call.
